(ooc: marie laveau is currently being npc'd in this thread. she is still available for play on the site. if you pick her up before this thread is finished, feel free to jump in since she is already being introduced into it)
(ooc: i can actually see, billy being interested in the books. perhaps, and this is just a thought, he takes one on dark magic and reads a spell about bringing back the dead. with cassie's death having recently happened, he might be tempted to try it ;) and pixie would most likely be the only one who knows he took the book. just something i just thought of xP)
[/blockquote][/blockquote]L O C A T I O N: New Orleans
Marie Laveau. The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. Not many knew about her and she liked to keep it that way. Some Avengers knew about her, some X-Men knew about her. But not everyone. She liked it that way and planned for it to stay like that. The room she was in was dark, lit only by the light of a couple candles. Her eyes wandered over to her prisoners, who were binded to the wall by chains she had cast a dark charm on. She held a little pride in herself after capturing those two. After all she was getting older, and they were young. One was even rumored to be the future Sorcerer Supreme. That meant that if she could, she wouldn't mind getting him out of the picture. She couldn't risk him becoming too powerful and stopping any plans of hers in the future.
The woman stood up from her kneeled down position on the floor and walked over to the mage. His head hung and his eyes were closed. She had successfully knocked him out with a powerful blow before he could even see who was attacking him. She grasped his chin, gently lifting it up so she could get a good look at him. She didn't want to wake him, unsure of how powerful he was. He wore no mask, meaning she would recognize him if in fact he did escape and ran into her again. He was young, just a child in her mind. "So the Avengers are now recruiting children? Interesting. I could have sworn that was the X-Men's job." she spoke softly.
She frowned to herself. There was something familiar about the magic he held. It was very similar to that of the Scarlet Witch's. Could he perhaps be related to her? If he was, she'd have to make sure the witch never found his body. After all, her plans didn't end with either of her prisoners living. She released his chin and looked over at her second prisoner. A female mutant. She took a couple steps until she was facing her. She looked no older than to be a student at the Jean Grey School. Perhaps she was. She wasn't surprised. The X-Men taught a school, so naturally they'd have young members.
She briefly wondered if her two prisoners even knew each other. She doubted it. The X-Men and Avengers rarely got along, from what she could tell. Turning around, she walked over to a shelf in the room, grabbing down a book on the dark arts. She opened it up and began flipping through the pages. She didn't necessarily need the book. She had all the spells memorized. Years spent plotting had done her wonders. She was finally ready to make a strike. Her head whipped around when she heard a groan, signaling one of the prisoners was awake. Which one, however, she wasn't sure of.
