Gideon CityDORIAN GABRIEL STRIFE
Code Name: N/A Age: 28 Alignment: Lawful good Power: Item duplication Dorian is the younger brother of Balthier and Kasey Strife, though when asked about his siblings, he'll most likely just talk about Kasey. His relationship with his older brother is nonexistent at the moment. He joined the Gideon City Police Department to try to do some good, genuinely wanting to help people. So far he's kept his power a secret from his fellow officers, allowing them to believe he's human. He never registered as a hybrid and doesn't often use his ability except for in private or around his sister for now.
While his sister was in prison, he visited her often, not wanting to lose his relationship with her like he lost his with their brother. He definitely feels as if visiting Kasey helped them grow closer. He couldn't keep his brother out of a life of crime, but he's been determined to do that with Kasey since she was released from prison.
When he saw the call sent out by Janella Carter, he wasn't quite sure whether to answer it or not. He always felt as if he could do more good as a cop than a hybrid, especially since his power is currently limited to duplicating one item at a time. However he doesn't think you have to wear a mask or have a secret identity in order to be a hero.
Personality-wise, he's a genuinely sweet, good man. If someone is in need, he feels a strong urge to help them and often will. He's never turned down helping someone - so long as it's legal. He sticks to his moral code, almost to the point of stubbornness. He doesn't think he should have to jeopardize his morals and what he believes in, in order to help someone or make the world a better place.
And perhaps it's naive, but he does think he could make a difference. He believes one person, speaking up, using their voice, can cause a ripple of change. Maybe he just doesn't want to become like his brother. He likes to think he doesn't have the potential to do harm like Balthier, but he doesn't want to be proven wrong about that.
Power-wise, Dorian can only duplicate one item at a time. He's attempted to duplicate more than one, or create more than one duplicate of a single item, but to no avail. In order to duplicate a different item, he must let the first duplicate disperse. If he uses his power too much, it takes a physical toll on him, mostly zapping his energy from him. He's not sure if it'd take more of a toll on him the longer he uses it, often taking a break when he starts to feel his energy drain.

Name: Monica Emalee Stane Face Claim & Image: Julia Jones Code Name: Valkyrie Power: Power cancellation - Monica is able to temporarily cancel out the powers of other hybrids by touching them. Skin to skin contact doesn't seem to be necessary. The length that their powers stay cancelled out, unable to be used, seems to vary and be quite random. The longest so far has been an hour. The shortest has been five minutes. Characters Who May Use: @sparrow, @atlas (others may use her, just let me know please) Monica is the mother of Scott, Ivan, Lisa, and Julian Stane. She raised them as a single mother after her ex-husband walked out on their family for reasons she doesn't know. She used to work as an FBI agent, where she gained skills in weaponry, a variety of combat, and hacking. She was with her family when the Encore facility exploded and was actually killed by the explosion. Somehow she was brought back to life by Encore. A side-effect of being brought back to life was that she lost her memories. She became Valkyrie, essentially an attack dog, assassin for Encore. When she discovered her children were alive, her memories started coming back to her. She eventually left Encore, disappearing for a few months to gather herself before returning to her children. She lived with them for a while, but shortly before Scott left to join Henry Alexander in searching for Olivia Alexander five years ago, Monica left the house, stating she had business to attend to, that she loved her children, Scott was in charge, and that she'd be back as soon as she could. It's clear she's returned to Gideon because of her children. It's unknown still what she left to do and if her goals were accomplished or not.

Name: Unknown Face Claim & Image: Tom Cavanagh Code Name: Perses Power: Shadow Travel - Perses has the ability to travel through shadows, including darkness in general when there is an absence of light. This allows him to escape rather easily, making him hard to capture. If he has physical contact with someone, he is able to transport them through shadows as well. Darkness Generation - During the day or in a room full of lights, he can make it suddenly pitch black, as dark as caves. Shadow Constructs - Perses can solidify shadows into touchable constructs that he can wield, such as a sword, whip, and other types of weaponry though it's not limited to weaponry. These constructs can be broken. The strength of the construct depends on how much he's concentrating on maintaining it. Combat & Weaponry - Though not a hybrid ability, Perses is skilled in various forms of combat as well as various types of weaponry. He prefers hand-to-hand combat over firing bullets at his enemy, though. Characters Who May Use: @sparrow, @atlas, @tristan (if you wish to use Perses too, please message either @sparrow or @atlas). Perses' costume is all black - a black trench coat, on top of a black shirt, plant pants, black ankle boots, black gloves, black belt, and a black mask that covers his full head. The mask has technology in it that allows air in and out so he can breath, and can project his voice so he can be heard and not sound muffled. However the mask also makes his voice deeper than it actually is, helping even more to hide his identity. There are eye slots in the mask that allow him to see out though are tinted to hide his eyes. The technology in the mask allows him to see in the darkness he can create. He works for Encore, specifically Tristan Carter. His identity is known only by those told by Tristan. He's cold and detached yet at the same time has a fiery temper. He's very manipulative and enjoys hurting others. He follows Tristan's orders though he does have plans of his own outside of Encore. His fighting style is brutal, attacking first and quick, aiming to keep his opponent on the defensive. When put on the defensive himself, he'll often shadow travel to flee that battle and move on to a new target. He's cocky in his ability yet somehow seems to be level-headed enough to know when he's losing.Note: Perses' name is inspired by the Greek Titan of chaos. I made Perses pretty powerful because I wanted him to be a formidable villain that's quite hard to defeat, however defeating him is not impossible. He'll often flee a battle before he gets defeated, which is really what makes defeating him a bit hard. Like I said, though, he can be defeated and I do have an idea of how I want his story to end but I want to keep it as a surprise for now.

Gideon CityELIZABETH HOPE STANE
Code Name: Chameleon Age: 21 Alignment: Neutral good Power: Camouflage Lisa is the third child and only daughter of Hank and Monica Stane. She grew up in Medina. She's the younger sister of Scott and Ivan Stane and the older sister of Julian Stane. She's biracial - Caucasian on her father's side and Native American on her mother's. She doesn't remember anything of her father before he left their family behind.
When the Encore facility exploded, she was out with her family. She got separated from them in the chaos but was later reunited with her brother, Ivan. The two of them were then moved to Los Angeles to live with their aunt and uncle. While there, she discovered her camouflage ability but kept it to herself. She lived in Los Angeles with her brother for years until they started hearing stories of masked vigilantes in Gideon and rumors of people with strange abilities. In her early teens, Lisa followed her brother to Gideon City, running away from their aunt and uncle.
She tried to keep her powers concealed, but eventually she found out about Ivan's ability and revealed her own to him. She eventually dawned the identity of Chameleon to fight crime alongside her brother, though he often didn't want to put her in danger. At the time, she never knew her brother was being blackmailed by Encore. She only ever found out after the blackmailing was done.
It was a happy reunion for her when she found out Scott wasn't dead. She saw the tension between her brothers and tried to help ease it but soon learned that wasn't within her power. She later joined her two brothers on a rescue mission to free her younger brother, Julian, and ended up rescuing Shane Keller along with him.
Over the past five years, Lisa took a break from being Chameleon, a break from being a vigilante along with her two brothers and Shane while Scott and their mother were gone. She got a job as a barista at a local coffee store. She helped Ivan make a lot of the household decisions while Scott was gone, sort of coming into her own.
When she heard Janella Carter's call to heroes, she didn't hesitate, wanting to become Chameleon once again. Though she waited to discuss it with her siblings and Shane, she has recently re-dawned the identity of Chameleon and plans to join Halo along with her brother Ivan. She's also been recently given reason to start questioning her memories and what she knows about her own life.
Personality-wise, Lisa has grown a lot from the starry-eyed, princess-loving little girl she used to be. She does see the world as a darker place but remains hopeful, believing that a light can be found anywhere. She has a strong desire to protect those who cannot protect themselves, to join the fight against evil, and to make the world a better place. This was the driving factor that kept her as Chameleon, having initially dawned the mask to fight alongside her brother. Now, she plans to fight whether the rest of her family does or doesn't. She's become a leader in her own right, often taking a "second-in-command" position in the family when Scott or Monica are home or co-leading with Ivan when their mother and older brother are away.
She's feisty, a true spitfire. She's not scared easily, having never faced the kind of trauma her brothers have - whether that's being blackmailed by Encore or held captive by them. However when she's afraid, she's able to bring herself to continue despite her fear. It's not often she lets her fear hinder her. She's a confident, outgoing soul, not having many insecurities. She's extremely protective over those she cares about and isn't afraid to fight on her behalf. She's also openly bisexual.
Power-wise, Lisa's power is exactly like her vigilante name-sake. She doesn't have true invisibility, but she's able to make herself and whatever she's wearing blend in with her surroundings enough to create the illusion of invisibility. If she has physical contact with someone, she's able to camouflage them too but concealing more than just herself is harder and requires more concentration. The more she tries to conceal, the more of a toll it takes on her mind and it will eventually start to take a physical toll on her body. She's also able to conceal objects, both small and large. The bigger the object, though, the harder it is for her to conceal.

JULIAN TRISTAN STANE
Code Name: Vulcan Age: 20 Alignment: Neutral good Power: Metal manipulation - Julian has the ability to bend and manipulate metal. It requires concentration and focus on his part and can take both a physical and mental toll on him. When he uses his power, his hands and sometimes his eyes glow a deep shade of orange. Though it is not a hybrid ability, he's also fairly skilled in swordsmanship and now wields a sword created by Sebastian Kane. His combat skills are fairly good as well because of training he went through during his time held by Encore. History - Julian was born the youngest child of Hank and Monica Stane. His father left their family not long after he was born - he was about a year old and thus he has no memory of his biological father. He grew up with his older siblings, Scott, Ivan, and Lisa in Medina, Georgia, raised by their single mother. He was fairly close to his siblings while growing up, not having a particular favorite out of them.
He was eleven when the Encore facility exploded. In the midst of the chaos, he was separated from his siblings and mother. He doesn't remember much from the explosion except being terrified until he was found by his oldest brother, Scott. However that moment of relief hadn't lasted long. He was picked up along with his brother by Encore and the two of them were inevitably separated. He didn't see Scott for years after that.
His power first manifested a couple weeks after that. During the years he spent held by Encore, he underwent training in how to control and use his power as well as combat and swordsmanship. He would later hardly remember any bit of the time he spent held captive.
Eventually, though, he was rescued by Scott, Ivan, and Lisa. During the rescue mission, the siblings came across Shane Keller and rescued him from his parents, two Encore scientists. He stuck close to his siblings after that, and because he was close in age to Shane, stuck close to him as well. He slowly grew more and more fond of Shane and eventually asked the other boy out. The two of them have been dating ever since.
He also followed in his siblings' footsteps and became a vigilante, taking on the codename Vulcan, inspired by the Roman god. During the roughly five years that Scott and Monica Stane were gone, he trained with Ivan, Lisa, and Shane, working to improve his skills and control over his power. Then when Halo's call to heroes sounded, he once again followed his siblings and re-dawned his identity as Vulcan. So far, though, he's chosen not to join any specific faction, though he considers himself an ally of Halo, should they ever need him.
Personality - Julian is sort of a mixture of his two brothers. He doesn't trust people right off the bat but he also doesn't immediately right them off. He's mischievous but not impulsive. He's brave and extremely loyal to and protective of his family and boyfriend. He's quite independent and extroverted. Though he doesn't remember his biological father, he has a strong hatred for that man. He wants to do all in his power to not grow up to be like him.
He looks up to his mother and his siblings, though he's also perfectly aware of their faults and flaws. Out of those he lives with, he's closest to his boyfriend, Shane. He's very tender, sweet, and patient with Shane. He likes to joke around and have a good time. However he also tries very hard to hide the effect that the years he was held by Encore had on him, even if he doesn't remember them. He's quite resentful toward Encore for, what he believes, taking his childhood from him.

Gideon CitySHANE DAMIAN KELLER
Code Name: Red Age: 20 Alignment: Neutral good - unaffiliated with any factions Face Claim: Ryan Potter Comic Claim: N/A Power: Blood manipulation - Shane has the ability to manipulate blood. Most often he manipulates blood once it has been shed and is no longer inside someone. He can manipulate it when it's still in someone's body, however that takes much more concentration and focus and takes more of a toll on him, straining his ability and mind. He's also able to turn the blood he manipulates solid, most often solidifying it in the form of dagger-like blades that he'll strike at an enemy with. His ability manifests with a red glow usually on his hands, though sometimes his eyes glow as well. Throwing Knives (non-hybrid skill) - While not a hybrid ability, he's become quite skilled when it comes to wielding daggers or throwing knives. He wields a set of red knives created by Sebastian Kane specifically for him. Combat (non-hybrid skill) - Arguably the least combative out of those he lives with, he has some combat training, occasionally sparring with some of the Stanes to hone his skills better. History - Shane was born to two Encore scientists, Carlyle and Jasmine Keller, in Colorado Springs. His family moved to Gideon City a year after the Encore facility in Medina blew up. Growing up he never knew much about his parents' work. He didn't know what kind of scientists they were and never really thought to ask. He was born partially deaf and learned sign language early on from both of his parents. He always saw his parents as the regular, caring, and doting parents. He never thought they performed experiments and he never thought he'd become one of those experiments. His life up until then was rather uneventful, a normal, regular life. He went to public school until his grades started to fall and he was bullied at school for being partially deaf and as quiet as he is. His parents pulled him out of public school during fifth grade and hired a tutor to teach him at home.
Then one day when he was a young teenager, he accompanied his parents to their work. He sat in a lab, watching them work, wondering what they were doing. But then they turned their experiment onto him. It was a modified version of the Catalyst. They had mixed some of his DNA in with the Catalyst to see if there would be any change. Then they held him down and injected him with it. Startled, terrified, and feeling betrayed, he'd tried to fight his parents off. He'd made enough noise that he was found and rescued by Ivan Stane. Once out of the room, he met Lisa, Scott, and Julian Stane - as well as the gryphon, Sparky. While attempting to escape the building, his hybrid ability manifested and he helped fend off two Encore agents.
After that he never saw his parents again. To his knowledge, they never tried to find him. He lived with the Stanes from then on, becoming very close to Julian and eventually entering into a committed monogamous relationship with him. He even followed the Stanes' examples and took up the vigilante identity of Red.
Personality - Shane is a very shy, introverted person. Somewhere after being experimented on by his parents, he's become a very dependent person. He can often be found hanging with some member of the Stane family if he's not glued to Julian Stane's side. He's also very kind, though, and caring. He's protective over his loved ones but he's more quiet and "tamed" compared to those of the Stane family that he lives with.

Gideon CityLEONARDO CALISTO MARSHALL
Code Name: n/a Age: 18 Alignment: True good Face Claim: Maria Casalss Comic Claim: n/a Power: n/a Leo is the only child of Mateo and Janet Marshall. He was born and raised in uptown Gideon City to the city council member and his wife. He grew up with a lavish, privileged life, enjoying the fine things and opportunities that came with his family's wealth. He had always aspired to follow in his father's footsteps, wanting to someday join the city council. He attended and graduated the most prestigious private school in the city and plans to go to attend an ivy-league college with a political science major and humanities minor after taking a gap-year.
He started volunteering Saint Gabriel's Rescue Mission of Gideon during his freshman year of high school, determined to walk his own path rather than use his father's name to gain what he strived for. Around eighth grade was when he admitted to himself that he was gay, though a part of him had always known. He didn't come out to his parents until sophomore year of high school and was relieved when they accepted him and loved him unconditionally. During his senior year of high school, he started volunteering at the Rainbow Guard.
Personality-wise, Leo is a genuinely sweet and nice guy. He likes helping others. He hopes to make the city a better place when he becomes a council member like his father. In his eyes, his father is his hero and a great man who helps many people. He's artistic and a lover of the arts like his mother.
However like his father, Leo holds prejudice against hybrids, supporting the registration act and believing they should be kept separate from humans. He was born after the explosion in Medina so hybrids have existed all his life. He learned to think negatively toward hybrids from his father, having grown up with his father's prejudice. It was just something he picked up. Whether he truly believes what his father believes deep down or not, he seems to think he does.
Power-wise, Leo's a human and thus he doesn't have any hybrid abilities. He did take multiple self defense courses and classes growing up at the urging of his parents. Because he has a love of art, he's spent majority of his free time learning different forms of art. He's gotten pretty good at music - both playing a few instruments and singing - painting, and poetry - it didn't hurt that his parents could afford great tutors.

He has been said to be able to reach speeds faster than the other speedsters put together. He also holds the ability to create clones of himself, which last for only a certain amount of time before he has to take them back, gaining their memories. When a clone is killed, however, he feels the impact of their death and since an incident like that, he has never used this ability again. Other abilities include immunity from friction and heat generation as well as slight invulnerability while running. His reflexes, stamina, and agility are also at superhuman levels. Because he has a hyper-accelerated metabolism, he heals faster than normal humans, though his wounds don't always heal correctly. Like his grandfather, he is also able to vibrate his molecules through solid objects and can speak at a highly accelerated rate. Bart has been trained in hand-to-hand combat by the LA Police Force. He also has a wide knowledge when it comes to anatomy and a photographic memory as well as being fluent in both English and Interlac. [attr="class","rostercatsub"]SKILLS/POWERS | [attr="class","rostercat"]Though he can heal fast, Bart isn't bullet-proof or any weapon-proof. His fast metabolism also requires him to consume a lot of food in order to keep up his energy. He can also have a bad habit of moving before thinking first, being impulsive. This tends to not go over well in fights. [attr="class","rostercatsub"]WEAKNESSES | [attr="class","rostercat2"]Bart Allen grew up in a future where he didn't even really know his grandfather. Barry Allen had been murdered by the super-villain known as Neutron. Little is known about the future where he came from because he doesn't talk about it often, if at all, but growing up in a dire situation, he became serious and jaded. As a teenager, he devised a plan with Nathaniel Tryon, who had once been Neutron, to go to the past and save the Flash. Before leaving he went 'in character' as a hyperactive, vivacious, and very talkative speedster in hopes of winning over the heroes of his past.
Using a time machine, he arrived several years earlier on Mount Justice, where he ran into Nightwing, Robin, and Beast Boy. After a comment from Beast Boy, he took the codename Impulse and ran away, leaving the other heroes to chase after him, though he was eventually caught by Nightwing. After revealing the trios' identities to them, he sped away and headed toward Central City where he met with the Garricks, his grandfather and grandmother, and Wally West. He later teamed up with Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West in order to take down Neutron. When no one was looking, however, he zipped back to Neutron and cured him of his condition.
After it was confirmed that he was, indeed, related to both Iris and Barry, he pretended to try to return to the future, though he already knew the machine was fried. In order to maintain his cover, he pretended to be frustrated with the machine and claimed to know nothing about machines when it is likely that he was the one who built it. Stuck in the past, he joined the Team and started living with the Garricks. He then helped the Team and the Justice League defeat the Reach, though at the cost of Wally West's life. In honor of Wally, he's taken up the mantle of Kid Flash. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]Bart Allen plopped down on his bed, having just vibrated through the door. He turned onto his side, curling up as he wondered if anything had changed in the future. How was Nathaniel doing? Had the mode crashed? He closed his eyes, no longer wanting to think about the future he had come from. He needed to focus on the present. As far as he knew, his future would never come to be. But if that was the case, why was he still here? Why did he still remember it? Would the time-stream fix itself once he returned? He wasn't exactly sure, but either way, he was still here for a reason.
The speedster's eyes opened as his name was called and he was told that dinner was ready. He quickly sat up, calling out cheerfully "Coming!" He was glad he had gotten to meet the Garricks; they were really nice and despite the awkward first meeting, they seemed to like him alright. But he just wished it had been under different circumstances. He really did wish he was simply here as a tourist. He stood up and walked over to the full body mirror that was hung on the side of the wall, near the closet. He was still dressed in his costume. He had nothing else to wear. He hadn't brought clothes with him. Joan Garrick had insisted on taking him shopping later, but he didn't want to take advantage of her. She already now had one more mouth to feed.
Impulse peeled his goggles off, staring at the emotionless expression that seemed to insist on staying on his face. What was wrong with him? He had cured Neutron and saved the Flash's life. Why couldn't he even crack an actual, genuine smile? Maybe it was because of the small, sad feeling welling up in his chest? Home-sickness he figured it was. Even if technically he was still home, on Earth, at the same time he wasn't. He was in a completely different century. He heard a knock on the bedroom door and tossed his goggles onto the bed. He glanced one last time at the mirror, putting on a curious expression as if he had been looking around the room, snooping. He ran over to the door and opened it to find Jay, whom asked if he was alright. He simply shrugged nonchalantly, saying in a confused tone "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" Gideon CitySAMSON APOLLO GREYSONAYLIN LUNA GREYSON
Code Name: Helios (Sam), Selene (Aylin), Gemini (together) Age: 20 Alignment: Lawful neutral Face Claim: Thomas Doherty (Sam), Sofia Carson (Aylin) Comic Claim: Firestorm Power: Solar energy absorption (Sam), lunar energy absorption (Aylin), cosmic energy manipulation (together), and telepathic link (both).
Solar energy absorption: Sam has the ability to absorb solar energy straight out of the atmosphere and into his body. He can use it in one of two ways. He can enhance his physical attributes, including strength, endurance, and senses. It's easiest for him to enhance one attribute at a time as it takes more concentration to enhance multiple attributes at the same time. He can also form projectiles from solar energy that he can send out in the form of blasts. His body does have a limit to the amount of energy he can absorb and how long he can hold that energy before he has to expel it.
Lunar energy absorption: Aylin has the ability to absorb lunar energy straight out of the atmosphere and into her body. She can use it in one of two ways. She can enhance her mental attributes, giving herself a genius level intellect. She can also form projectiles from lunar energy that she can send out in the form of blasts. Her body does have a limit to the amount of energy she can absorb and how long she can hold that energy before she has to expel it.
Cosmic energy manipulation: The twins are able to combine their powers, combining their forms at the same time. In their combined form, they can create, shape, and manipulate cosmic energy - such as energy from stars, planets, galaxies, etc. They can only hold their combined form for a limited amount of time, exhausting each other once they're separated. When combined, though, they maintain the ability of whichever twin is in control of their combined form.
Telepathic link: Sam and Aylin share a telepathic link, but only with each other. They are unable to telepathically speak with other people or read the minds of others, only each other. They've never faced down a telepath, so they're unsure if their link could be hijacked by a telepath.
Sam and Aylin were born the younger siblings of Elijah Greyson. They were separated from their family and lost during the Medina Incident. At only a couple months old, they were picked up and taken in by Encore agents. They were raised by Encore agents. They were told that their family died in the incident and that Encore had rescued them. Once their powers manifested, they were trained to control their abilities and become future agents for Encore.
When they were old enough, they were enrolled at Carter Gardens, where they both excelled to the top of their class. Throughout growing up within Encore, they stuck together, often communicating through their telepathic link when they were separated. They never fully believed in what Encore stood for, but to their knowledge, Encore had rescued them and taken good care of them. So after graduating Carter Gardens, they've become full-fledged agents of Encore.
Personality-wise, Sam is extroverted, often reflecting the very sun his powers come from. He's warm and outgoing, someone people just like being around. He's protective over those he cares about, but especially over his sister. He has a fiery temper when angry, though that mostly shows when his anger mixes with his sense of protectiveness over his sister. He's pretty open to new things and new people, often the one to drag Aylin out to socialize with others. He's an act first and think later kind of guy, preferring to act without a plan.
Personality-wise, Aylin is introverted, often reflecting the very moon her powers come from. She's shy and prefers staying in doors, curled up with a book, rather than going out and meeting new people. She's not as self-confident as her brother and tries to keep her insecurities to herself, though that becomes hard with a telepathic link. She's protective over those she cares about, but especially over her twin brother. When angered, especially if that anger mixes with her sense of protectiveness, she can come off as cold and detached. She's a genuinely kind person, though, and loves to talk about her interests once someone gets through her shell. She prefers to think of a plan before acting.
Sam and Aylin are written by Tiger.

Nightwing mentions that she uses at least three different fighting styles. Investigation: Kate has studied under experts in forensic science, law, behavioral science and criminology, learning methods both high-tech and old-school for tracking down criminals. Interrogation: While Batwoman does a lot of physical intimidation and violent interrogation work - though she wouldn't torture or deliberately maim people. Intimidation: She leverages her considerable presence, her excellent training in psychology and interrogation, being obviously willing and able to hit people really really hard, suddenly shifting toward protectiveness, etc. to achieve remarkable results. Military Protocol: A one-time soldier raised by a career soldier, Kate is quite familiar with military policy, protocol and most aspects of life in the Army. Gadgetry: Kate is adept in the art of tinkering with things both mechanical and electronic. Computer Hacking: Kate is capable of hacking and some basic programming, but more importantly, of keeping her own computers and gadgets from being hacked or traced. [attr="class","rostercatsub"]WEAKNESSES | [attr="class","rostercat2"]( source) Katherine "Kate" Kane, alias Batwoman is the daughter of a Colonel Jacob Kane and Captain Gabi Kane. Her parents were both career military and worked extensively with military intelligence services. Katherine grew up with her parents and her twin sister Elizabeth Kane. As her parents were promoted they moved to a wide variety of towns and bases. Her father was often away from home. The Kane family moved to Brussels in Belgium, since her parents were now serving at NATO. The family however was torn apart due to a terrorist attack. Gabi was taking her daughters for the day, they were kidnapped by heavily armed men from the Religion of Crime. Military intelligence eventually located the hostages, and Jacob was put in charge of the tactical unit that was sent to rescue them. However they were too late as Gabi had been executed along with Elizabeth. Jakob rescued Kate himself, but she was traumatized by the sight of her dead mother and sister. Kate tried to please her father by entering the Marines. At West Point, she roomed with Cadet Captain Sophie "Gimme" Moore, with whom she also entered in a lesbian relationship. Her commander got wind of it, and inquired about it. She confirmed her sexual orientation, but protected Sophie. Per the DADT policy, she was dishonorably discharged. Her father forgave her, and found it more important that she did not lie to save herself. Jacob Kane eventually married weapons heiress Catherine Hamilton. This new wealth established Kate as a socialite in Gotham City's upper crust. She became notorious for her partying and drinking. One night after a party, she was pulled over by officer Renee Montoya. Instead of being fined for drink driving, the two entered in a relationship. They broke up when Renee told her she had no direction in her life, no education, and no apparent goal. She found her purpose soon enough: when she was confronted by a mugger in an alleyway, she was saved by Batman. She decided to become a vigilante too. With her father's help, she traveled all over the planet for two years to learn how to fight. Her father used to family fortune and connections to come up with experimental weaponry. Renee encountered her old flame again when she was researching suspicious activity at a warehouse on 520 Kane Street for the Question. Renee crashed a party at Hamilton manor, and Kate confirmed to her that her family owned the building. It was being leased by Ridge-Ferrick until six weeks earlier. Renee refused to tell Kate what was going on, saying that she didn't owe Kate anything, which shocked Kate and prompted her to tail them as Batwoman. When Renee and the Question broke into Ridge-Ferrick's Gotham offices, they were attacked by Whisper A'Daire's shapeshifting minions, and Batwoman arrived to rescue them. Making quick work of two monsters, Batwoman stopped Renee from shooting the third, instead kicking the monster out a window. Batwoman informed them the police were coming, asked that she not be mentioned, and left. After Renee learned that the Book of Crime, a sacred text of Intergang, contained a prophecy foretelling the brutal murder of the "twice named daughter of Kane," she and the Question returned to Gotham. They contacted Kate by flashing a Bat-Signal, and the three joined forces to avert Intergang's plans. As Kate continued the case, she was joined by Nightwing, who had recently returned to Gotham. On Christmas Eve, he gave her an 'official' Batarang. She also celebrated Hanukkah with Renee, and the two kiss shortly before Christmas. Intergang realized that the image of Batwoman in the Crime Bible and the cited "twice-named daughter of Cain" were one and the same, and ransacked Kate's apartment, kidnapping her with the intention to sacrifice her. Renee found her, seemingly too late to save her, as during the ensuing fight with Bruno Mannheim, Kate pulled the knife out of her own chest to stab Mannheim and then collapsed in Renee's arms. Kate survived her wounds after Renée used pseudoderm to patch up the wound and stop the bleeding, leaving Kate at the hospital in Renée's trenchcoat. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY | [attr="class","rostercat2"]She had a lot of memories she associated with Gotham. Not all were good. And of course the mind tended to remember the bad more than the good. As she got off the plane from Argentina, stepping into Gotham's airport, she couldn't help but think about when she'd been on that plane with Alice - no, Beth. She paused and closed her eyes, taking in a breath. She still wasn't over what had happened, but how could she ever get over it? She'd never fully moved on from seeing her mother and sister dead as a child.
But to find out the sister you'd thought was dead was actually alive, an evil crime boss, and that your father knew about it the whole time? That was a little harder to move on from.
She hadn't spoken to her father since then. He'd tried to contact her, but she hadn't answered. Even under normal circumstances, she would need her space. But that had been far from normal. She didn't want space from him, she wanted absolutely nothing from him. There wasn't anything he could do or say to make her forgive him.
She opened her eyes and let her breath out. Not every memory was bad. Besides, Gotham was her home. It was crawling with so many Bat-themed vigilantes that she wouldn't have been surprised if the city hadn't noticed Batwoman's absence. Either way, she thought they should be glad she was back. One more vigilante to protect them. And she was just as capable as any of the others.
As she stepped out of the airport, she took her phone out and sent a quick text to Dick Grayson. She smirked at the text and slipped her phone into her back pocket. She'd been told that Alfred would pick her up. She didn't think she needed any favors from the Waynes nor any help, but Alfred had always been a nice man to talk to. Besides, he could easily update her on the latest to happen in Gotham. So with that, she put on a pair of sunglasses and waited to be picked up. Her text had said it all...

MONICA EMALEE CLAY STANE
Code Name: Valkyrie Age: Forty-five years Alignment: True neutral Face Claim: Julia Jones Comic Claim: N/A Power: Ability augmentation - Monica has the ability to temporarily cancel out the powers of other hybrids by touching them. Skin to skin contact doesn't seem to be necessary, as she can touch them over their clothes and still manage to cancel their powers out. The length that their powers stay cancelled out, unable to be used, seems to vary and be quite random. The longest so far has been an hour. The shortest has been five minutes. Hacking - She's a highly skilled hacker, having learned at a young age and then honed her skills during her time at the FBI. Combat - She learned various forms and styles of martial arts and combat while working for the FBI. Weaponry - She's highly skilled in various weaponry, having always had a natural knack for them but honed her skills during her time with the FBI. History - Born Monica Emalee Clay, she grew up in Phoenix, Arizona with her family before moving to Medina, Georgia to attend college. There she met and quickly fell in love with a sweet talker named Hank Stane, after meeting him at a local bar. Their relationship was a fast, hot, and unstable one. They moved in together after only a month of dating. They argued a lot and occasionally shoved each other. She took a self-defense class at her college, and started learning on her own how to fight and wield weapons. But she believed she loved Hank, despite the dysfunction of their relationship. When she discovered she was pregnant with her first child, she told Hank and he proposed to her. The two of them then eloped.
She had two more kids with Hank after getting married. Their relationship continued to be dysfunctional. She knew for a fact that he was cheating on her, and she also found their intimacy together to be lacking. She had affairs of her own, choosing to not be committed to a man who had never really been committed to her. Then she had her youngest son. Shortly after that, when her eldest was six years old, Hank walked out on their family. She didn't even bother going to the courts. She hacked into the databases and put herself and Hank as officially divorced.
Even while all that was going on, she'd been climbing the ranks of the FBI, slowly but surely becoming its top agent. She focused on her work and her children, determined to raise them as a successful single mother. Of course she had fun when she could - a girl has needs, after all. Then the explosion happened and her life seemingly fell apart.
She was killed from injuries due to the explosion, but Encore had gotten to her in time that they were able to use defibrillators to restart her heart. The trauma from the explosion caused her to suppress her memories and made her easy for brainwashing. She had already been highly skilled but training from Encore had her hone her hacking, combat, and weaponry skills even more. She became a force to be reckoned with even without her powers. She became Valkyrie. She was used as an agent of Encore and even fought against her own children a few times before managing to regain her memories.
She briefly departed Gideon to come to terms with what she had done before returning to be more involved in her children's lives. She even started to grow close with a young man, Timothy Smith, and started to see him as her own son. Then she discovered that her ex-husband used to work for Encore. She then embarked on a roughly five year long journey to hunt down Hank Stane and get answers from him. She never found him. Instead she crossed paths with an Encore agent known as Perses. The two of them fought multiple times, Perses following her in her search because she suspected it entertained him. When her search kept coming up dry, she eventually decided to return to Gideon.
Since returning to Gideon, she's proudly watched two of her children join Halo. She adopted Timothy. And despite thinking she would never want to open her heart to anyone again after her ex-husband, she's even met a man that makes her rethink that.
Personality - Monica has always been a blunt woman. She says what's on her mind and she doesn't know how to hold that back. She can be brutal when she wants to be, especially when she's upset. She has anger issues and can be easily triggered - she's known for throwing knives into the wall when she's quietly simmering. She's a passionate woman, though, in everything she does. If she enjoys it, she'll put her heart into it and give it her best effort. She's extremely protective over those she cares about, especially her children. Hurt her children and she will bring her full wrath upon you.
Monica is written by Tiger.
