Doctor Charles Caster strode through the hospital hallways, dressed in his scrubs. He didn’t have time to change. He hurried to the elevator and once in, pressed to go to the basement. Hardly anyone went to the basement anymore. To everyone else’s knowledge it was just cluttered with old equipment and other randomly stored objects. It was perfect for Nebula to use, especially with their special ‘guest’. A hospital full of blood on top of her and no doubt her senses could pick up even the faintest of its smells.
He frowned to himself as he entered in a passcode to get past the locked doors Gregory had paid for. He pushed into the room and slipped on a pair of latex gloves. He cursed the men and women he worked with as he glanced at the figure lane on a metal table, strapped down tightly with an IV pumping wolf’s bane into her. He had been successfully downing her doses and replacing what little he subtracted with the actual fluid meant for an IV. After all, how else could he sabotage Nebula? By fueling one of their play-things to take back control of herself.
Of course she wouldn’t be allowed to leave the room, which was reinforced with silver and whatever glue used to contruct it had vervain and wolf’s bane mixed into it. She wasn’t going anywhere, at least not without help. And it wasn’t like she would be at full strength anytime soon. He wished she would be, but that wasn’t possible. He just had to hope that Armando was convincing his son to rebel and warn the heroes. Why Armando even allowed his son to be involved with Nebula was beyond him.
“You’ll be stronger soon,” he spoke, though he made sure to keep his distance as he went to check the machines. One monitored her heart, steadily beating which was good. “And I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know you’ll have some butts to kick.” He had no doubt that the young woman was bitter. Hell, she’d probably try to attack him once back to full strength. He’d welcome it, after all he deserved it. He would have welcomed death, as well, if it wasn’t for his son and his need to get back to the boy.
Despite how much fear was coursing through the young woman's now thin form, being in such a situation was anything but strange and uncommon to Vivian. She had been in this position far more than she liked, more than anyone would ever have liked. At times, it seemed more like it was a routine for her, a habit to be caught and forced down onto some exam table. The number of times she had been stabbed with needles and injected with some foreign serum was beyond counting. The number of beatings she had gone through for trying to escape, for trying to fight back, she wasn't even sure how many times she had been through that. She stopped counting at thirty. But, the physical pain was something she could handle. It was the emotional strain and damage that was breaking her down. They had Derek and Jasmine and it pained her more than anything to not know what had happened to them. It was the unknown that frightened her the most.
Silently and motionlessly listening to the number of sounds that echoed in her ears, the werepire stared coldly up at the metallic covering that lined the ceiling and walls of her prison. The thick, tightly wound leather straps that were tied to her thinning form had rubbed her flesh raw to the point where they became numb to the stinging pain. Her jaw was sore from her newly developed habit of grinding her teeth, having nothing else to do as she laid there and something of a nervous habit as well. Above her, she could hear the footsteps and clatter of many people as they rushed from room to room, treating patients for whatever ailed them. But, the noises had become nothing more but a simple buzz in the background. She had been here for so long that it all seemed like nothing to her. But, there was one thing that she would never grow use to hearing.
At the soft hum of the elevator as it came to stop at the entrance, Vivian found herself tensing, the leather straps groaning as her arms pulled faintly against them. Her dark eyes narrowed as the door to her room slid open, a deep growl rumbling in her throat. It was always the same man who came to check on her, and she had grown to hate him with a passion. Glaring sharply at him, her elongated fangs bared, she spat faintly at his words. "Yeah. Yours,"
she hissed, her arm instinctively moving to strike at him, but the damned strap held her arm in place, though it greatly groaned in protest until she finally allowed her arm to fall limp once more, her breaths coming out in sharp, short puffs now in her anger.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Charles eyed Vivian as she grew hostile. No surprise of course, but he still had to watch her. While she couldn’t kill him easily thanks to his powers, she could still kill him and posed a threat. “Understandable, child.” He spoke calmly, giving her a dry expression. He wasn’t scared of her, and it showed. He was simply cautious. He took out a needle and gently pushed it against her arm, over a vein, drawing a small sample of blood to test. He had to make sure all of their tampering wasn’t harming her permanently.
“However,” he added, giving her a side-glance as he squirted her blood into a small vile. “You should kindly remind yourself that Armando and I are the ones keeping your children safe. Heaven only knows what Gregory would do, if we hadn’t hid them from him.” He put the vile in a briefcase that contained several other blood filled vials, some labeled with her name on them, collected throughout her time as a prisoner – er guest. There were more than just vials with her name. Some had the names of other captives they held.
He turned to her, noticing the marks on her wrists that made her previous struggles obvious. “May I suggest not struggling and trying to break free? While you may believe you have a chance of escaping on your own – and you might – it is best for you to store your strength. After all, what good would you be once you’re free but too weak to battle? Especially if you are alone.” He spoke matter-of-factly, knowing his intellect was superior to hers. It was to be expected. After all, he had gone to college and gotten a doctor’s degree as the top medical student at his school. Of course he knew what the hell he was talking about.
After spending months with people cowering before her because of the number of things she had been forced through, it was almost foreign to Vivian when the man didn't even flinch. In a way, her inability to frighten him angered her. He showed no sign of weakness which couldn't be said for the werepire. No, it could never had been said to describe her. It seemed that no matter what she did, where she turned, she would always find herself becoming vulnerable and weak in another's eyes. She was physically strong, yes, but her mentality...Well, that was far from being strong and powerful. And, perhaps that had been why she found herself in such a situation as this. As her chest rose and fell in drawn out intervals, her breathing deep and even, her eyes continued to glare at the man as he stood beside the table.
Her eyes eventually fell onto the needle he held in his hands and once more that same weakness seeped into her being. Tensing, she instinctively tried to pull away from him, but of course she could not move. She feared needles and syringes now more than ever because of the people who held her there. She feared what could possibly be held in them and the pain that came with them had driven her to the point of becoming terrified simply at the sight of them. Whimpering faintly as she felt that damned needle pierce her arm, the werepire's breathing came in short bursts, trembling as he pulled it out. It took her some time before she managed to gain a hold of herself once more, but the moment of control did not last long as the man brought up her children. Jasmine and Derek were two of the most important people in her life. She loved them more than anything and, while it was somewhat comforting to know that there was a chance that they were indeed being cared for, there was a pit of doubt in her that believed him to be lying.
With a deep, feral-sounding growl rumbling in her throat, her eyes became cold and unwelcoming once more. "But, if it wasn't for you and the damned bastards you work for, they wouldn't even be here," she snarled, her eyes burning with anger. It did not help that the man continued to speak to her like a small child. Tightly shutting her eyes, she fiercely shook her head before a sense of panic and desperation washed over her. "Let me go," she hollered as she pulled and yanked at her restraints, her mind losing all grasp of sense and logic. Thrashing about on the table, it took a number of moments before she was able to calm down. Her shoulders slumped as a sob finally ripped through her throat. "Why can't you just leave us be...?"
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Charles watched as she struggled, hollering and thrashing about. He had to give her credit, though. At least she was fighting. Carlos hardly fought back, still struggling to grasp he was back in the world of the living and scared stiff. He still wasn’t impressed, but he understood why she was fighting. While he hoped she stored up enough strength, he also hoped she wouldn’t lose her fighting spirit. Her will to go on was precious and much needed if she wanted to survive.
“If I could, I’d make sure you were left alone the rest of your existence,” he replied truthfully, though he knew she wouldn’t believe him. He didn’t expect nor particularly want her to believe him. She simply had to listen to him speak and take in his words. After all, who would believe him aside from his own son? Arthur listened to him and Armando trusted him, but that was because their views on Nebula were the same. Vivian didn’t know his views and he couldn’t risk telling her. In his line of work, it paid to be paranoid.
He turned to look at her, at what she had become. She looked weak. She looked as if she was fighting a losing battle. But he wouldn’t allow that. He wasn’t about to watch her lose. He would later meet in private with Armando and Arthur and discuss some things with them. He’d make it known to Arthur that they had her and others, not just Carlos. They’d set some plan in action. A plan that would help the heroes take down Nebula. He refused to watch anyone else suffer and die at the hand of this corrupted organization.

Tweak: Replace Nebula with Cadmus Takes place during the Cadmus arc They were here. They didn't even try to hide it as the stepped outside the Jump City airport. Arthur stood next to Charles Caster, the hood of his sweatshirt shadowing his eyes and hiding his fear. Yes, he feared those that were approaching them. Two men, a woman, and two teenager girls. They were anything but normal. The woman with shining blonde hair was a manipulative bitch, to put it bluntly. She had hypnotic abilities and was skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She was Natalie Scorn, second in command of Nebula.
One of the teenagers had long, wavy red hair and piercing hazel eyes. She was a reject from Paradise Island, the daughter of a woman who had given her life up to save Wonder Woman. She was the girl that had made the princess of the Amazons' life on Paradise Island a living Hell. She was Annie, who held enhanced strength and flight, and was the daughter of the fierce Amazon known as Artemis.
The other teenager looked exactly like Ishi Daggle, a former teammate of his. But he had learned that it wasn't Ishi. For some reason, in the past, Ishi's adopted father had become obsessed with her (as well as Joshua Wayne), and when she slipped out of her grasp, he had cloned her, adding his own DNA in. This girl was certainly not Ishi. She had blue hair and blue skin. Her personality was similar to Natalie's, except she was more rebelious. She was Kuran Daggle, most likely the second person trusted the most by the leader of Nebula.
A man with shoulder-length dark hair and dark eyes stood in front of Arthur, eyes baring down on the teenager, causing him to shift uncomfortably on his feet and lower his head. This man was the one whom he considered his father. This was the man who had created him in a lab with half his DNA and half a plant's. He was a scientific genius who held no powers. He was human and the half-brother of the organizations leader. Like Charles, he wanted to find a way out of Nebula, but couldn't. He was stuck, with no way out, no way to a better life. But of course his son didn't know that. His son saw him as a cruel, judgemental man. He was judgemental, but he was also a very proud father. His son had done well without questioning any order. But working for Nebula wasn't a life he had wanted for the boy, and neither was becoming a monster. But he had an appearance to keep up. After all, he was Armando Milo.
The man that had been lagging behind arrived. Just the sight of him sent chills spiraling up Arthur's spin and actually caused the teen to hide ever-so-slight behind his father. This was the man that had caused pain to so many he knew. Rider's Deck and Young Justice. This was the man who was responsible for what had happened to Josh when he was eleven, and for why Ishi decided to run away from him. This was the man who's entire body was figuratively stained red with blood. This man was the one who was responsible for the massacre in Coalfield.
This was Gregory Kishie, leader of Nebula.
They weren't even trying to hide their presence. They were famous as a environmental, humanitarian organization. There was press, of course, snapping pictures and cameras pointed at them, recording for the local news stations. Gregory shot them all a look and without a word, ordered them into the limo. He sat down with Natalie at his right, clung onto his arm, and Kuran slumping next to him on his left. Annie sat next to Kuran while Charles sat across from Natalie and Armando sat across from Gregory. Arthur slipped into the limo, closing the door behind him. His father grabbed his wrist and pulled him down next to him. He didn't protest. He knew better than to open his mouth.
He was scared to death of almost everyone in the car. Charles didn't scare him, but that was only because he had gotten to know the man better. Everyone else scared him, and why wouldn't they? He had no strength, no will anymore. His monster had taken over. His feelings for Ken hadn't gone anywhere, so he was stuck alone. Teddy had vanished, more than likely dead. The thought of that made his eyes threaten to water. He was going through probably the hardest time of his life and the one he loved wasn't even there.
He had no one but Nebula. He couldn't count on the members of Rider's Deck, his former friends. Nor could he count on Young Justice. Nebula had beaten them once already. And he doubted the Titans would even consider helping him unless it involved a way to take Nebula down.
The limo stopped at what he recognized to be the Testing Facility. He wasn't sure if it was abandoned or not, but as he followed closely behind his father into the building, he noticed it appeared to be untouched. Everything was where it should have been if it was indeed still operating. He glanced at Gregory, who he figured had paid the owner a high sum of money to use his or her facility. He followed them quietly, obediently to one of the sub-levels. He pushed his hood off and looked around as the members of the organization stood around a table. Quickly, he took his place by his father's side. Gregory glanced at each of them before speaking.
"Let us begin."
"By now we should assume that the children know we're here," Gregory began and to those around the table, it was obvious who he meant by children. The Teen Titans, Young Justice, Rider's Deck, and anyone else foolish enough to try to stand in their way. Coalfield had simply been a pop quiz; a pop quiz for the young 'heroes'. And they had failed. They had been unable to stop a massacre. The memory almost made Gregory grin. Oh how the children must feel like disappointments to the League and their family names. Now, though, was a test. A semester final, if he deemed it that. It was either pass or fail. There was no trying, no 'gave it their best'. The children either saved their city, or watched it burn. Perhaps this time, he'd even get to watch some of the children burn with the city.
The League had yet to get involved. Perhaps it was because they were unaware of the threat or they actually believed in their offspring? Either way, it made no difference to them. Often hope came with the next generation. If they could take them out of the equation, then how hard would it be to get their parents out as well? They'd be blinded with rage and vengeance. They would watch their children fall and the world turn against them. There'd be nowhere to run. The tyrany of so-called 'heroes' would be over.
"They'll be preparing themselves for the city to turn against them," the man continued, looking each of his followers in the eye. "But we won't go by that approach. Instead of turning their supporters against them, we'll try something different. After all, we've got nothing to loose." His eyes settled onto Arthur, who hesitantly glanced up at him before quickly putting his gaze down to the table. "We've already started our new tactic with Feral. Though your creation did not require mind-control, Armando."
Arthur looked up to see Gregory coldly striding toward him. He wanted to hide, to cowar behind his father or Charles, but he had to stay still. Any sign of disobedience and he knew he'd regret it. His green eyes met Gregory's harsh, narrowed gaze. He felt his body stiffen and his muscles tense. "Sir?"
"Can you guess what the first step is, boy?" Gregory asked. The tone of his voice demanded an answer. "The first step to our plan. It is one you must take and aide in a large way."
Arthur couldn't move his gaze away, it was stuck on the man he was so much afraid of. He didn't want to answer. He didn't want to say what he thought it was. But he had to answer. Gregory was waiting and he hated waiting. Hesitantly, he opened his mouth and spoke. "Turn the heroes against each other, sir?" A part of him hoped he was wrong. Even if it meant a scolding. There was still a part of him that cared about his friends. He wasn't working for Nebula because he believed in their views or he hated the Titans, Young Justice, and Rider's Deck. He wanted to protect the city, but he was a big threat to it. He was created to be a pawn in Gregory's hand. He was a danger to his friends. So he had ran home to his father and gotten sucked into a deal with the Devil himself.
The teenager could feel himself pale when he recieved Gregory's response. Dread washed over him. The heroes of the city could fend for themselves, he knew that. But Nebula had their ways. And they rarely didn't get what they wanted. He wanted to tell himself that he had heard wrong. But that wasn't likely to be the case.
"Exactly."
[/blockquote][/blockquote] Charles frowned. He didn't like that plan. It wasn't that there was a high chance of failure, but rather the opposite. He, Armando, and Arthur actually wanted the heroes to have a chance. But they weren't niave. They knew the likely outcome and they didn't like it. That was why he had sent Dylan to stay with his mother's side of the family. He had never told them about the boy, but they had welcomed him with open arms. Several other heroes, and just people in general, had vanished from Jump City. Alex, the girl his son had been so fond of, was gone. Jester and Stone Alice were the only Rider's Deck members left in the city, and some of the Titans had seemed to vanish - he had been in charge of monitoring the citizens and heroes. Only four or five members of Young Justice were left as well.
Had they fled? Or had they simply left, unaware of the city needing them. It wasn't as if Jump City was left unprotected, but it wasn't as protected as it used to be. The more the merrier wasn't as far-fetched as some might think. He looked over to Arthur, who managed to pull his gaze from Gregory and look at him. The teenager was afraid for his former-friends, and he had every right to be. Even if the heroes stood a good chance of winning, it was better to look at the negative side of things than to get optimistic and lack common sense.
After all, good didn't always win.
"Just how do you plan on turning them against each other?" Armando asked, his Hispanic accent clear in his voice. "We'd have to go about capturing them since Robin and Jester more than likely took care of warning every hero in town about us." When Gregory simply grinned, the scientist sighed. "We'd have to find a fool-proof way of taking them without anybody realizing their gone, mind control them and return them to where we found them."
"We can handle that," Natalie responded with a shrug of her thin shoulders.
Armando grit his teeth in frustration. He may not have been completely loyal to Nebula, but the thought of some simple screw up sending him to jail for mass murder wasn't pleasing at all. "How, Scorn? We're not dealing with defenseless civilians. Lots of these kids are supers. Not to mention, if we leave any little trace, there's a chance the League might pick up on it and get involved. I thought the goal was eliminate the kids and then their parents?" He noticed how Gregory's eyes were practically glaring at him and nervously swallowed, grabbing Arthur's wrist and pulling the teenager behind him. "I'm not doubting that you can pull it off, Gregory."
"I'm aware of that," the man coldly replied, "You're a scientist. You must look at all the attributing factors. And you can do that. You can prepare special containment in case we get someone whose... difficult to contain. Special containment like the one we're currently using for our guest."
Armando and Charles exchanged slightly confused glances. They hadn't been aware of any guest. But they guessed Natalie, Kuran, and Annie had known by the way they were grinning. They truly were insane, like Gregory, who stood right in front of Armando, their shoulders touching as he looked over the man and at Arthur.
"Would you like to meet our guest?"
[/blockquote][/blockquote] Arthur hesitated. Did he want to see the guest? He wasn't sure. Yet the way Gregory said it was as if the man was taunting him, teasing him with information he knew the teen would want. Gregory had specifically gone up to him and asked, which likely meant he knew the guest, or prisoner as that term seemed to fit better. Slowly he nodded his head, giving the man his answer.
He followed Gregory out of the room, Annie trailing behind him. His eyes glared daggers at the back of the man’s head. He hated this. He hated being afraid and powerless. He felt like a slave; like a dog with a collar around his neck and Gregory was holding the leash. He was curious to who the man was referring to, but at the same time he was terrified. Surely no one deserved to be a ‘guest’ of Nebula.
He stopped cold, his face paling. In front of him was some sort of containment room. He could see inside it. Inside was a boy, somewhere in his early- to mid-teens. He was thin, his lack of food and water showing. He wore simple light blue denim jeans and a black tank-top, no shoes. His skin was pale, almost white. His hair looked so bleach it appeared white. His eyes were a sparkling blue color.
Arthur’s heart felt as if it had stopped beating.
“Carlos…”
He couldn’t believe his eyes, but the boy sitting in the corner of the room looked exactly like Carlos McDougal, the first Whisper and founding member of Rider’s Deck, son of the Silver Banshee. But… Carlos had died. Emotions swirled inside of him. The glass that the room was made out of wasn’t two-way. He could see in, but he could tell the boy couldn’t see out.
“…How?”
His eyes stared at the boy, not registering Gregory, who stood at his side while Annie stood behind him. “You’d be surprised what magic can do. Found a follower of the Black Witch and forced her to use the last of her magic to recreate his body and bring him back. The room itself is charmed to keep him living. Without a specific spell only the Black Witch knew, he’ll die if he steps out.”
Arthur placed his hand against the glass. The boy couldn’t have been Carlos. Gregory must have been lying to him. Yet the look in those blue eyes. Fear with a cloak of determination, no doubt determined to get free. The way the boy’s shoulders were slumped as if he had already accepted a loss, but his expression was set in anger. Defeated yet not broken. A look he had seen on Carlos a number of times. He was someone, who despite knowing he was dying, could never be broken. He could be defeated, but was always undaunted. He was the closest Rider’s Deck had ever had to a hero amongst its ranks.
His eyes widened as the realization dawned on him. People had been brought back from the dead before. It wasn’t unheard of. This was Carlos. The boy who he had liked for as long as he had known him and had become like a little brother to him. He slammed a fist against the glass, causing the banshee to jump and look up. His eyes turned onto Gregory, anger pulsing through his veins.
“Something wrong, child?” Gregory’s tone was teasing, mocking. He knew very well what was wrong.
Arthur let out a low growl from the back of his throat. He barely noticed his father enter the room until he tried to lunge at Gregory and found strong arms holding him back. A few words were whispered into his ear in Spanish and he was held back against his father’s chest. Gregory was grinning at him, Annie was prepared to attack him. His eyes were glowing a bright red. Carlos was standing now, looking at the glass as if wishing he could see through it.
His father’s arms wrapped around him and held him firmly. The man spoke in Spanish to him, telling him to calm down and that all would be well. He didn’t pay attention. Gregory had messed with the one person he cared so much about, aside from his ex-boyfriend. Gregory had messed with his family. He was blinded by rage and the monster was begging to come out.

I’m not perfectBut I keep trying
DOCTOR CHARLES CASTER RAN a hand through his blond hair that was in a tattered mess. He stood in the hospital's locker room, grabbing a comb out of his locker and perfecting his hair. He tossed the comb back in and slammed the locker shut. Hurriedly, he pulled his white coat on, making sure his name tag showed, and walked out of the room. His footsteps were quick as he rushed through the hospital. Nurses and fellow doctors spoke words to him, but they were ignored. His mind was only focused on his son. He stepped into the elevator and quickly pressed the button for the third floor. In his mind, it took too long to get up there.
When the elevator doors swung open, he practically ran out. It had been merely half an hour since he had showed up at the hospital and treated the child. Well, Dylan was a child in his mind, though the boy was almost sixteen. His son had lost a lot of blood from mimicking his powers. He remembered going through the same agonizing thing when his body had begun to force itself to get used being able to transform into dark matter.
The man felt his body relax as he came to the room his son was staying in. No one was in there save the fragile, sleeping body on the bed. He wondered if the Titans had gotten his message. He knew his son stayed with them, but wasn't sure if he was a member or not. So he had thought it was best to call them and let him know he was stable at St. Clair's Hospital. He didn't want them freaking out when they saw his son's room trashed and a big hole in the wall. As he watched his son sleep, he couldn't help wondering how the Testing Facility had gotten a hold of him again.
Narrowing his eyes, Night Shadow stepped into the room. An IV and a bag of blood were hooked up to the boy. He strode over to the window, opening the blinds and looking out. There was a nice view of the Titans' Tower from the room. A team of heroes. Faintly smiling, he shook his head. They reminded him of Dylan's mother when he had first met her. A teenage hero wanting to make a difference. But could any of them really make a difference? His wife sure had. She had made a difference in him. Looking over at his son, whose face looked so much like her, he realized the boy had made a difference in him as well.
The member of Nebula pulled up a chair next to the bed and gently grasped his son's hand. He would do anything for Dylan and it hurt him to think that the boy probably wouldn't believe him. The teenager had every right to hate his father, but it didn't make that hurt any less. Charles gently kissed his son's hand. The boy reminded him so much of his wife. He was going to be a hero, he could tell. Just like her.... No, he was already a hero. Dylan had saved his life. He finally had a new, refreshed reason to consider leaving Nebula. His wife had always pressed him to turn good or at least leave Nebula, but he had never been able to. Gregory had a firm grip on him. Gregory knew his darkest secrets and it was as if the man was the only thing keeping him from falling into a deep, dark abyss. Gregory was holding onto him and he was holding onto Gregory in return.
Now, he wasn't afraid to let go. Looking at his sleeping son, he knew he had found a light. In his mind and heart, there was a light that let him know everything was going to be okay. So he had to let go of Gregory's hand and reach for that light, praying he would land on his feet. The boy in front of him was his hero, he had no doubt about it. He had a new reason to live, and a new reason to care.
Charles looked over as he heard a faint, weak groan. He watched as two blue eyes fluttered open and looked over at him. The child still looked utterly terrified. He smoothed a gloved hand against his son's cheek. "It's alright, Dilly," he spoke gently, using a petname for the boy he had just come up with. Someone else must have called him that, ‘cause he noticed his son relax almost instantly. "You're at the hospital. I'm gonna take care of you." He waited for a possible reply, wondering if the boy still had his powers or if it had faded away by now. He hoped his son was strong enough to talk, but he wouldn't push it.
"Daddy..."
Charles' eyes widened and he felt his body freeze. He stared at his son, wondering if Dylan had actually just called him that. Since the day he had been forced to give his son to the orphanage, he had thought he would never be called Daddy. Surely Dylan was too old to call him that now... But yet Dylan was still his little boy. He was sweet, innocent, and very young when it came to his heart. And that simple word, Daddy, brought so much joy to the man. He pushed the chair away and sat down on the edge of the bed, next to Dylan. Gently, he pulled the boy into his arms, burying his face in the teen's blonde hair.
"I'm here, Dilly," the father tried to keep his voice from shaking. He felt like he could cry, but out of happiness. He prayed that this meant Dylan was warming up to him and would possibly allow him back in his life. "Daddy's right here. I'm gonna take care of you. I'm gonna make you all better."
‘Cause that’s what I said I would do from the start Wordcount: 992 Lyrics: Perfect/Hedley Character(s): Dylan Caster/Mimick/Hero Charles Caster/Night Shadow/Nebula Comments: Inspiration for this post came from In My Arms by Plumb and Everyday by Rascal Flatts =3 Hope you guys like it! <3 Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Titans/OpenHow the hell did we wind up like this? Why weren't we able
SAI HAD BEEN BEYOND worried. He had been scared. Well, scared for Dylan. He had come into the boy's room to see it in a mess and the Australian no where to be found. That had probably been one of the only times he had allowed a stream of profanities leave his mouth. He had apologized afterwards quietly, but he wasn't sure if anyone had heard him. While he had nearly had a panic attack, Collin had tried her best to help some of the others figure out where he could be. He would have been calm and composed, except that this was all too familiar. The day his mother had died, he had found her room trashed, only to shortly after find her lifeless corpse. After a lecture from... someone,-- he didn't bother to remember --he had finally calmed down.
That was when he had heard about the message from Charles. Though the man's voice had sounded caring, he couldn't keep a low growl from escaping him. Charles was a known member of Nebula, who he had recently learned was very dangerous. Even if Dylan wasn't a member of the Titans, he was his friend and he would be damned if he left him alone with Charles. He hadn't waited to see what Collin or the others would do. They didn't really affect him. He was a member of Titans East, not the Teen Titans. They couldn't really stop him even if they wanted to. So he had rushed to the hospital as fast as he could. He made sure to dress in his costume, however, so Charles wouldn't figure out his identity.
Once he had found the room, Quickshot had moved to go into the room, but he had paused in the doorway. Charles was holding Dylan and the boy was practically clinging onto him like a scared little kid. A lump formed in his throat along with something along the lines of jealousy. He couldn't even count the times after his mother's death that he had wished Roy had been there to hold him so he could just break down and cry. Even now, despite being almost sixteen, he wanted his father like a child would want their parents after waking up from a nightmare. He was tired of being strong. A part of him wished he could be like Dylan, innocent and childish. But he couldn't. He just couldn't.
The archer pushed his jealousy aside and entered the room. Charles was obviously trying to comfort Dylan, but he still didn't fully trust the man. Mimick was like a younger brother to him, so he wanted to be there for him. He put a concerned smile on his face as he made his presence known. "Mimick?" he made sure to use the boy's codename, though the room door had been closed so he doubted it really mattered. He walked to the opposite side of the bed as Charles, brushing his fingers against the boy's arm. "Hey. How you feelin'?" He paused before his eyes went onto Charles and turned ice cold. "What happened?"

COLLIN WAYNE HADN'T BEEN too worried when she had first learned that Dylan was missing. For some reason, she had thought that maybe he was trying to prank them. Of course, now she knew it wasn't really in the boy's personality to pull a prank, at least alone. Plus, a prank that scared the crap out of Sai and later her was not something she could see Dylan pulling. It was too cruel for him. Once she realized that, she had practically freaked out, though kept most of it in her head. She had helped out, tempted to take the lead when it came to finding the boy.
So she had been more than relieved when a call came in from a Doctor Charles Caster to let them know he was alright. She had practically jumped for joy. She planned on heading to the hospital with Sai, but the archer had left before she even had the chance to. She was nervous to say the least. She knew Sai didn't think that highly of Dylan's father, or fathers in general. It didn't matter to her that she had never met her father, Bruce Wayne, because she had had her mother to raise her. Neither Sai nor Dylan had really had anyone for awhile.
Walking down the hospital hallway, Catgirl smiled when she noticed Quickshot walk into a room. That must have been where Dylan was. She was in civvies, but that didn't really matter. Secret identities were the last of her worries. No one but those on the Titans, Young Justice, and possibly Rider's Deck teams knew she was a Wayne, so she didn't have to worry about irritating cameras trying to snap her picture. She caught the door just as it started to close behind Sai. She took in the scene before her with a small smile. Charles was holding Dylan, while the boy clutched onto him as if his life depened on it. Sai also sat there, being the big brother he seemed to have become. She couldn't help wondering if Dylan knew how good he had it; if he knew he already had a family.
"We can figure out what happened later," the tall and slim teenager said, making her presence known as she walked over to the bed. She stood at the foot of the bed, bending over and placing her hands against the end. "What matters is that you're alright." She added, eyes looking at Dylan before going to Charles. "And that Doctor Caster here is taking care of you. I hear he's one of the best." She shot Sai a warning glance, hoping he would just keep his mouth shut and let the man be a father to his son. She turned her attention back to Mimcik, smiling softly. "So, like Sai asked, how you feeling, buddy?"

It had been awhile since the short, fire-controlling teen had been in Jump City, and it was something she was happy to return to. A few months past, Alexandra had received a message from one of her father's doctors with unfortunate news. After the countless years of the man's drinking and smoking habits, he had finally reached the point where he was paying the price. He was diagnosed with a number of illnesses and health issues to the point that there was little for them to do. He was dying and that was the plain truth. At first, the young Titan had been unmoved by the news, having hardly any emotions towards the man who had abused her in her childhood and forced her to be someone she wasn't. But, as the information had the time to sink in, it finally hit her.
Whether he had treated her terribly or not, he was the last thing he had of a family. She had no siblings, her mother was gone, and he was all she had left. It had been that thought that had sent her packing to her father's house, where she spent every minute of the day caring for him. It was something she hadn't been too fond of, but she felt she owed it to him one way or another. No matter what he did to her, she found it wrong to force him into something that could've potentially been worse than what she had gone through. In his weak state, his behavior was different, which surprised her greatly. Even though she would never admit it, she actually enjoyed her last moments with him. His usual harsh voice had been quiet and, perhaps it was from his damaged, sickened mind, but his words were softer, kinder.
It had only been a week now since the man had passed, which left a sort of saddened emotion behind. Alex didn't weep for him as much as people might've expected, but she felt the sadness and the emptiness of him going. Returning to Jump, the red-head had been hoping to be welcomed by her friends and enjoy a few days of comfort, only to find Dylan in the hospital. Sai had messaged her not too long before she had made it to the city, and the girl was quick to find a way to the hospital. Now hurrying through the halls, Torch did her best to not run into anything or anyone, not wanting to make a mess or be kicked out because of her clumsiness.
"D-Dylan! I-I'm looking for a Dylan Caster.", she blurted at the woman at the desk, panting faintly as she anxiously waited for the woman to look down the list. "Caster...yes, he's in room 243, now--", the woman had started, but the girl didn't bother to stay any longer as she quickly searched for the room. Sai hadn't told her much, only that he had been in the Testing Facility once more and was now here. She remembered the condition he had been in before when she had first found him, and she was terrified of what could've happened to him this time. Bursting into the room, she almost tripped over her own feet in her hurry. CHARLES LOOKED UP AS the door opened and two figures entered the room. He recognized the girl from Nebula's computer of heroes that once inhabited Coalfield. Collin aka Catgirl. The other he didn't know the name of, but knew his codename was Quickshot. Of course both of their identities went out the door the moment he heard his son mumble "Sai, Collin." and looked down to see the boy softly smiling. He kept his arms around the boy, carefully pulling the blanket up so it didn't fall off his son's shoulders. He could tell both teenagers cared much for his son by the worry that was painted over their faces. He looked to Sai, the archer, when he asked what had happened. He didn't want to explain, not at the moment anyways.
So naturally the man was relieved when Collin changed the topic. It touched him that she actually seemed to be happy that he was the one taking care of Dylan. She seemed much happier than the boy. Then again, he almost detected jealousy on Sai's face, though it was quickly hidden. He liked and appreciated their calm way of approaching the situation. He knew they had probably been worried sick earlier, and might still be. Yet they put their emotions aside to help keep Dylan calm. The last thing the boy needed to do was start freaking out and possibly activate the powers he might still have copied.
Mimick didn't seem to be in the mood to speak anymore, however, as he snuggled himself in his father's arms and hid his face in his side. Night Shadow watched the child for a moment before lightly chuckling and turning to the two worried teens. Before he could reply, however, someone came bursting into the room, causing the small body in his arms to fidget and get startled. He was prepared to reprimand whoever it was, but stopped when he saw it was that hot-tempered shorty from the Titans. Wasn't she his son's girlfriend? She was a pain in his rear, considering how she didn't like him one bit. He doubted she would like seeing him holding Dylan, but he didn't care.
"A-Alex?"
The Australian looked down at his son to see his head peeping from curled up at his side, blue eyes on the red-head. The boy's tired and fragile mind seemed to take a moment to recognize that it was indeed her. He had recognized Sai and Collin on the spot, however. So that lead the father to believe that his son hadn't seen her in a real long time. He didn't mind the girl's genuine concern for her son and obviously she hadn't known he was looking after the boy. He was one of the best doctors in America. So, if she had known, there would have been less of a reason for her to worry so much. He didn't want to sound cocky, but that was the way it was. He did give her credit, though. Since she came, now he knew why his son hadn't minded the petname. But that was the only thing he had to thank her for. A simple answer to an unspoken question.
Since she hadn't said anything else really, he turned his attention back to Sai and Collin to answer their previous question. "He's feeling much better than an hour or so ago, I can asure you that." He gently rubbed a hand against his son's arm, watching with a sense of joy and satisfaction as the boy returned to snuggling against him, wanting his warmth and comfort. His son trusted him. That was all he had ever asked for. The boy's trust and love. "Not very talkative, but that's because he's probably still exhausted and feeling a little sick. I promise you all, I'm giving him the best treatment this hospital can provide." He would have given him even better treatment, but there was a risk Gregory would find out. And he couldn't let Gregory find out about his son, if the man didn't already know.
‘Cause that’s what I said I would do from the start How the hell did we wind up like this? Why weren't we able
SO MUCH FOR SECRET identities, Sai thought as he removed the hood of his costume and the sunglasses, placing them on the desk by the bed. Instead of lecturing Dylan on the importance of a secret ID, he reached over and gently took one of the boy's hand in his own. Charles didn't seem to protest, so he held the boy's hand. He looked over as Collin spoke, not at all surprised that she had been right on his tail. He had sent Dylan's girlfriend, Alex, a text message earlier, telling her about what had happened. He hadn't recieved a reply, so he wasn't sure if she got it or not.
Apparently she had.
The young British boy looked over as she came bursting into the room like a recently egnited flame. Hardly any of the Titans had seen her in months and he wasn't sure why she had left. Athena probably knew, but he hadn't. Neither had Collin and thus neither had Dylan. The blonde had practically been heartbroken and struck with worry. He hadn't known what had happened to his girlfriend and the archer didn't blame him for worrying. Alex was certainly going to have to apologize, a lot. Not just to Dylan, of course. To Quickshot as well. By worrying and hurting Mimick, she had pissed him off. The Australian was like a younger brother to him and he would beat someone to a bloody pulp if they ever simply looked at him the wrong way. A bit over-protective, but that was how he was.
The dark-haired boy figured Charles wouldn't care if he was protective of Dylan. Then again, the man seemed annoyed each time Alex tried to protect Dylan from him. But Charles was Dylan's father, and he didn't seem like the kind of dad that would hurt his kid. So Sai had to admit, he was okay in his book. He honestly wished he had a father as devoted as Charles. Then again, his father could have been like Charles-- he doubted he would ever know. He listened as the doctor explained how the boy was, nodding every now and then to show he was listening. "The treatment can't be free. You paying for it? I'll contribute what I can." To be honest, he didn't have a penny to his name. But if it was for Dylan, he would get the money. Charles simply chuckled and said he didn't need any money, but thanked him anyways. A small smile went onto the archer's face, gently rubbing a finger against Dylan's hand.
To see the signs that we missed And try turn the tables? You spin my headRight round, right round
COLLIN PRACTICALLY JUMPED OUT of her skin as she suddenly heard Alex. She looked over and gave the red-head a small smile. She hadn't seen her in months and had been slightly worried, though not as worried as Dylan had been. "Don't worry, he's gonna be fine. Doctor Caster found him and saved him." She made sure to mention how Charles had saved Dylan from the Testing Facility, since she knew well that the man and the Titan didn't see eye to eye. She wished they could, though. They both had strong drives to protect Dylan, just like her and Sai. Her's wasn't as strong as Sai's, since she knew when it came down to it, Mimick could handle himself. But she could see by the satisfied look Charles gave the archer, that the man didn't mind. Perhaps the man would get close to Sai, fill in a gap she knew he had. A gap that was supposed to have been filled by his father.
The teenage heroine looked toward the doctor as he started speaking. She was glad Dylan would be okay. She could tell by the paleness of his face that he was, indeed, still feeling sick. She could tell by the blood bag that somehow he had lost a lot of blood. That made her want to ask what happened, but she didn't want to push the situation. She gave Charles a smile. "You should join the good-guys." She said, completely serious. "You're his hero. Nebula doesn't suit you." She looked to Sai to see if he disagreed. He simply nodded in agreement, trying to hide the small smile on his face. She almost laughed. So even his cold, 'bloody' heart could warm up to someone? Her eyes then went onto Dylan, who was watching Alex. She figured that if he had the strength to say more than one or two words at a time, he would be telling her how much he missed her and curiously asking where she had been.
Catgirl's attention then turned onto Torch, wondering if she would disagree with her statement. She didn't hear a word out of Night Shadow, and guessed it was a topic he had thought about time and time again. After waiting enough time to get a protest or not, she decided to ask. "Alex, where have you been?" She kept her tone curious instead of reprimanding. She figured Athena and Irazehl had known where she was, but she hadn't and neither had Sai. And if they didn't know, Dylan sure as hell didn't know. So she couldn't help asking. She needed to know.

When she had gotten the text that Dylan was in the hospital, the worst possible scenarios had instantly shot through her mind, and it was obvious that her image of him in a full body cast with a completely beaten body, and on life support was a bit overdone. Letting her shoulders slump in relief, she straightened herself out a bit as she smiled at her boyfriend. Quickly walking to the foot of the bed, she bit her lip to keep herself from glaring at the boy's father, a bit jealous at the affection the two were showing. No, she didn't like that man, but it was just as she didn't like any other man. Her father could be thanked for that flaw in her, but she literally bit back her dislike, knowing now wasn't the time for it. Nervously glancing at Sai and Collin, she gave them a weak smile, already telling by how the two held themselves that she was going to be getting an earful from them.
There had been a reason that she kept her departure on a need-to-know basis. One was the fact that she had thought it would've simply been a quick trip, the other was that she had been in no mood to explain herself. Everyone clearly knew the majority of what he father had done to her, and she knew -- or more accurately, assumed -- that everyone would question her on her decision to care for the man who had so badly abused her. Watching the blonde, she hardly heard the words Charles said or those of Collin as well. She was in no interest of what they thought about this whole situation, her only contentment was that Dylan was okay. It wasn't until the other girl asked her the question she knew had been coming, but...well, she thought it would've come in later. Dragging her brown eyes up to her, she hesitated for a moment, not sure how to put it.
...I was taking care of my father., she said simply, her tone and actions dropping the topic as she hoped the girl would do the same. She didn't want to talk about her father right now, not here where Dylan had his own worries to care for. And, right now, that was what he needed to focus on, not her issues. In a way, Alex found that to be one of his flaws. In her mind, she saw him as too caring for others. And, yeah, that could be a good thing and all, but he hardly ever focused on himself, and it worried her in a way she couldn't really describe. Smiling, she gently rested a hand on one of his legs as a sigh of comfort, not knowing what else to do at the moment.ANGEL OF MERCY HOW DID YOU MOVE ME WHY AM I ON MY FEET AGAIN WORDCOUNT;: 468 LYRICS;: Mercy - OneRepublic COMMENTS;: ...meep? lol TAGGED;: Dylan/Charles/Sai/Collin/Open? CHARLES HELD DYLAN CLOSE as he watched Alex, feeling Dylan curl against his side. He could tell she didn't want to discuss the topic anymore and by the way both Sai and Collin seemed to visibly retreat that they understood as well. He could tell by the slight confusion that showed on their face that they didn't understand why Dylan obviously hadn't known where she was. So she was with her father, what was the big secret about that? He didn't know that out of the group, only Dylan knew what her father had done. He lifted his hand up and smoothed it through his son's hair, looking down at the boy who's eyes stayed locked on the small red-head.
"Ally?" Dylan's quiet voice piped up as he felt his father's hand rubbing his arm comfortingly. "I-I'm sorry... I didn't know... I... I would have helped..." He allowed his voice to trail off as he felt his father's cheek rest against the top of his head. He reached out with his arms, wanting a hug from his girlfriend. He had missed her and he had been scared without her. He hadn't known what had happened to her and he had been scared that he had lost her; that something had happened to her and she was hurt somewhere, waiting for his help that he couldn't even give.
Charles was quick to move, however, using his gloved hands to pull down the sleeves of his son's hospital gown. He had made sure to get the boy one with long sleeves, not wanting to risk him copying someone else's powers again. He kept his arm around the boy, holding him close as his protective nature stayed surfaced. He probably wouldn't leave his son's side until he was needed for a surgery. Even if he was needed, it would be hard for him to part with the boy. I wanna knowCan you show me?
RAPTOR HONESTLY WASN'T SURE what he had done wrong. At first, he had figured he got the date wrong for his date with Jeremy. But after almost a year of hanging around the arcade, his thoughts changed. Maybe that was what humans called "getting stood up"? It hurt him to think that and his uncontrollable emotions had made him cry for two weeks straight. Now, he was just feeling a cold, numbing chill. He couldn't help wondering what he had done wrong. What could he have done to push Jeremy away? Okay, so he was pushy, but Jeremy was the first person to show interest in him since Kira. Plus, Jeremy had kissed him.... After he had kissed him first and been harshly rejected. Still, Jeremy had kissed him.
Ever since that day, the demon couldn't stop thinking about that, thinking about Jeremy. He found himself thinking about the phaser, about himself, about them being together, and what they could be. He could still feel the kiss on his lips, even though it happened so long ago. But now, instead of a soft, warmth, all it left was a stinging pain that wouldn't go away. The young boy was fine with admitting that he didn't understand humans and the way they behaved. He didn't understand any living creature except for himself. He had never even understood Kira and why she did certain things. Like why she had created him and then left him after a week. He didn't understand life and death. She had tried to explain it to him, but he didn't want to really understand it. Her death had hurt him. Why would he want to understand why she had to die?
Sighing to himself, he pushed himself into a sitting position, hidden behind several large bushes. He was in his "human form", with short black hair and piercing blue eyes. His hand hovered to the black collar with blue rhinestones on it. Kira had placed that on him as if it had some worth. It had a silver tag on it in the shape of a heart with Whisper engraved on it. That was how he recieved his codename. Kira had given it to him. Curling his legs against his chest and closing his eyes, he couldn't help feeling abandoned yet again. Kira had abandoned him the moment her chest had stopped going up and down and he could no longer hear her heart beating. Jeremy had abandoned him the moment he chose not to show up to their date.
Whisper didn't blame either of them, however. Who would want to spend their life with a being that was part every demonic creature known to exist? He had vampire in him. He had werewolf in him. He was pretty sure he even had sea monster in him. Anything considered demonic, he had, and any mythical creature was considered demonic by lots of people. His cat ears and tail appeared, leaving blue sparkling dust to fall to the ground as a side-effect of his magic. His ears lowered against his head and his tail barely flicked at all. The sound of a bird chirping reminded him that he needed to eat. He wanted to just slowly rot away, but Kira had created him for some reason, and he had no right to die without knowing that reason. So he stood up and slipped out of the bushes, glad the find that no one was at the park. Then again, it was around ten at night. So who in their right mind would be at the park? Well, besides him of course.

His personal time had been greatly cut down in the past few months, much to his dislike. He could hardly do anything now for himself. It was always, Sign this and Read this and he was tired of it. But...it was expected of him from his father. With his father growing older and...well, old, it seemed to have gotten into his head that Jeremy should start taking charge of the business and whatnot. It really wasn't something the boy wanted though. He hated the paperwork, hated the job, and even hated the area of work the business was in. He wasn't extremely good with math, and the job as boss of a large banking company was certainly not the best for him.
Unfortunately, his father seemed to be so proud in the job and the idea that he would take over that it was hard to say no to him. Sighing, he gently tugged on the black cat he wore, not thrilled about the dress code either. Walking now in dress pants, a white button up shirt, a dress coat and a pinstriped tie, Phantom wasn't exactly comfortable. It was hot and tight and definitely not his style. His hair was neatly done and combed back as well, his father insisting that it was the 'office style', or whatever he called it. Right now, though, he wanted to forget all that. He just wanted to relax for once and not have any papers to read or meetings to go to.
Shuffling along the paved walkway of the park, he gradually found himself looking for a familiar face. He couldn't remember exactly when he had last seen Raptor, the demon that he had so sorely missed in his absence. He knew well that the feline-like boy was fond of the park and desperately hoped he was here. He wanted to be close to him again, he wanted to feel his form in his arms and the touch of his skin. He shuddered faintly just at the thought, the anxious knot in his stomach tightening as his look began to grow desperate almost. The dark-haired teen froze, though, as he saw him.
A soft smile slid onto his lips as his heart fluttered with joy. It had been too long; just too long. His strides were long and quick, wanting to get to the boy more than anything right now. And, for that time, his worries and pressures of his father's wants and expectations melted away as he saw only one thing in his mind. Raptor.

RAPTOR CRAWLED OUT FROM
the bushes, the look on his face giving away his lonely feelings. He didn't care if anyone was around as he changed his outfit to a light blue t-shirt, dark denim jeans, black tennis shoes, and a black sweatshirt. He flipped the hood up, hoping to hide his face. He needed food, though he didn't have any money for it. His hungry stomach distracted his mind from noticing as someone approached him. He looked up into a tree, hoping it had apples in it or any kind of fruit. Of course it didn't. He frowned. Just his luck. Despite being in his human form, he let out a soft, almost desperate meow. He hated life. Life wasn't fair. Life kept food away from him and life pushed Jeremy away. Finally a familiar scent reached the demon's nose. His entire body visibly tensed and froze as his heart clenched in his chest, another thing he hated about life. Life gave him emotions and they were emotions he couldn't control. He had to force his head to turn so he could look at the phaser. Jeremy. He felt utterly confused as a wave of different emotions slammed into him and he mentally cursed himself as his eyes began to water. He felt betrayed, abandoned, forgotten, and just down right hurt and angry. All of those faught to show themselves on his face, but his hurt shined out brightly. Whisper pushed his hood down, his cat ears and tail appearing, leaving silver sparkles in the air around them as a sign of his magic. His ears lowered submissively but also sadly and his tail hung limply behind him, not even swaying one bit. He honestly didn't understand humans. Why did they keep on leaving him? And why was Jeremy back? He had spent days, weeks outside of the arcade, waiting for him. "J-Jeremy....?" He wasn't sure why Phantom's name came out as a question. Obviously it was Jeremy. The dark-haired boy wrapped his arms around himself tightly, trying to get his emotions under control and praying he didn't cry. "Wh-why did you leave?" He couldn't help asking, eyes lowering to the ground. "What... Trippin’ outSpinnin’ around
ISHI DAGGLE FROWNED TO herself as she walked down the road. The roads leading out of and into Jump City weren't that busy besides the usual cars going and coming. She was on 'look-out duty' as Harvey had called it. It was rather boring and pointless. All she did was stick near the city's border and watch for any signs of Nebula. She couldn't see the point to it and couldn't help wondering if this was just Harvey's way of getting her out of the base. Harvey had learned that both she and Joshua had a personal history with the leader of Nebula, though he wasn't aware of the details. Gregory Kishie had raised her and she blamed him for all the things that went wrong in her life, even if it wasn't related to Nebula at all.
As a child, Gregory had used the orange-skinned girl to achieve his sick goals. He had used her for publicity, though her orange skin had often been hidden. The worst he had used her for, in her opinion, had been to bring Josh's attention to her and get him away from his family so he could be kidnapped at age eleven. She cursed the man for all he had done to the boy she now called her boyfriend and believed very much so that she was in love with him. She wouldn't say that out loud, of course. It would draw attention to their relationship that they didn't want. Besides, no one outside of the teams and possibly a Titan or two, knew they were dating. To the world, Joshua Wayne was single, expected to become a 'lady's man' like his father and brothers.
Stone Alice pulled the lip of her hat down a little bit more, shadowing her eyes and keeping the sun out of them. She had shifted so her skin was pale and her hair was blonde, her usual civvie look. She almost smiled as she found herself using the word civvie, a word Josh had taught her. Apparently lots of heroes used that term instead of saying civilian look or what-not. She hadn't realized how much he had caused her to open up, and she had only known him for a little over a year. Unlike him, she hadn't been in Coalfield. Her first time meeting Rider's Deck and Young Justice had been in Jump City. That had been a couple months after she ran away from Gregory.
The teenager wasn't even sure how many exact days she had been dating Josh, but she was sure that he had made a change in her. She smiled now. He was the reason why she smiled. Mathew had also made a change in her, she knew that as well. He was her first friend aside from Zen. He didn't care how screwed up her past was nor did he care about how screwed up she possibly was. He just liked her and he was able to make her laugh. As much as she didn't want to admit it, Harvey had made a difference in her as well. When she first joined Rider's Deck, it had been to get close to him and make him pay for murdering Zen, her best friend since childhood. But as she got to know him better, she learned that Zen's death had been an accident. She hadn't questioned him when he took Rider's Deck turning toward neutral standing and then border-line heroes. In her mind, he wasn't half-bad at leading the team. He was rough around the edges, but then again so were the other team members.
There were a couple teammates she had never met before, but had been present when the team video chatted with them to keep them updated. She had a decent relationship with Olivia, finally able to tolerate the blonde. Cirna... well her relationship with the blonde enchantress was still a work-in-progress, though they had mutual respect for one another. Those were the only acting members of the team that were in Jump City. There was also Sheena Hall, whom she had known briefly, but she had been relocated to help out the rest of the team somewhere on the planet. Then there was Fria Faust, daughter of Felix Faust. She had only really 'met' her through vid-chats. She seemed to butt heads with Cirna a lot, which earned her a point in Ishi's book. Caroline Adam was also someone she had briefly met, but was relocated as well. The only one she had yet to meet completely was Jackal Dorrance, daughter of the in-famous Bane.
The shape-shifter quietly chuckled to herself when she realized Harvey was the only boy left on the team, unless he and Cirna had recently recruited new members. The other boys... well they hadn't been able to stay. Carlos had died and Arthur had quit. Teddy and Peter she wasn't sure where they had gone as well as Midnight. Maybe they had moved on with their lives? She couldn't blame them if they had. There was only so much of this life someone could take.

You spin my headRight round, right round
COLLIN WAYNE CERTAINLY WASN'T having a good day, possibly even a week. She didn't like what was going on and it added to load of stress she always seemed to be carrying. One might look at her and think of her as a bubbly airhead who was hoping to become the next Catwoman, but that was only a small part of her. Well, she denied being an airhead and she was sure that she was going to become Catwoman; she was as sure as she was that there was a Heaven and Hell and good and evil.
Since she was little, she had always carried some form of stress. There was always a weight on her shoulders that she couldn't seem to lift. As a child, she had to deal with her mother's on and off life as a thief as well as the woman's odd relationship with her father. She had never even met her father, however. While Selina had left Joshua on the Waynes' doorstep for Bruce to find, she had decided to raise her daughter on her own. As far as her mother knew, no Wayne knew of her existance. But Josh knew. Somehow he had figured it out during their time in Coalfield and he had promised not to tell the rest of their family. He had claimed that it wasn't his place to tell.
So of course the presence of Richard Grayson, adopted son to Bruce Wayne and thus her older brother, bothered her greatly. The teenager didn't know how to deal with it. Here she was, practically seventeen and the meeting between the Titans and Young Justice had been the first time she had ever seen him in person. To her that screamed pathetic. Whatever her mother's reasoning was, she should have ignored the woman and met her family a long time ago. She had grown up wishing she could meet her father, but had never taken that into her own hands. And now she was afraid. Sure Josh had accepted her, but that had been when he didn't have any other family with him. What if Bruce would be angered? What if he didn't want another kid? What if her siblings didn't want her? Despite hearing some stories from Josh, she knew relatively nothing about her family.
And finding Dylan in the hospital hadn't helped at all. Catgirl was constantly looking over her shoulder when she heard his voice to make sure he was alright. Sai was watching out for him too, but it didn't feel like it was enough. She was happy for Dylan, though, with the fact that he seemed to be getting a better relationship with his father. He had something both she and Sai wanted, but she doubted he knew. He had a father, one whom he knew would always be there for him. She would be lying if she said she wasn't the tiniest bit jealous.
Of course that could all change. She knew Alex didn't like Charles Caster, it was obvious. But she hoped the Titan that had disappeared for practically a year would realize it was best for the boy to have his father and take a step back. Speaking of people who had returned... She was unnerved by the sudden arrival of Vivian. She wanted the werepire to be nowhere near the Tower and her friends. In fact, she wanted to take a wooden and silver stake and beat her with it until she left Jump. She didn't want to let her get away with her murdering streak and she prayed Athena would call the cops on her. She was a murder and had to face justice for her actions.
Collin didn't trust Vivian at all anymore. She had trusted her a little in the past simply because some of the Titans trusted her. If the team she was on trusted the werepire, then why shouldn't she? She had learned the answer the hard way. Now, she would keep an eye on the werepire's every move. She would live up to the paranoid name of the Waynes. She wasn't alone, she knew that much. If Josh knew, then she was sure he would keep an eye on her as well. If she refused to go to jail and face time for her crimes, or if she simply refused to leave Jump, then she was sure that both Waynes would make the werepire's life in Jump a living Hell.
With those thoughts running through her head like a train, the teenage hero sat down on the edge of the roofstop. Her legs hung off the edge as she stared out at the water. The sun was setting and it lit up the sky a beautiful shade of orange with a hint of pink. She tried to blank her mind, closing her eyes as a cold breeze blew by her.

Charles had never wanted this to happen. But there hadn't been anything he could have done to change it or prevent it from happening. He strode down the hallways of the Testing Facility, ignoring all the sounds that reached his ears. He was dressed in all black. Black pants, a black trenchcoat, black shirt, black shoes, and a black fidora perched on his head. Wherever he stepped, a dark mist was left hovering around the floor for a few minutes before it disappeared. It was a sign that he wasn't trying to control his powers anymore. He was pissed and he was in the mood to hurt someone. His image shimmered between looking human and looking like a cloud of black mist. His fingers curled inward into two tight fists as his face continued to have a cold, deadly look of calmness to it, showing he still had some control over himself.
Every scientist or security guard that he walked past coward away from him. No one told him to leave or get out, after all Nebula was one of the few companies that sponsored this place and paid for all of their... unusual expensives. He had walked down these halls quite often ever since being stationed in Jump City by Gregory. Now, he knew most of the building like the back of his hand. So, naturally, he knew exactly where to look to find what he was looking for. He was stopped outside the door. His cold eyes turned to the man standing guard, who was saying something about the room behind off limits.
Bullshit.
With a simple snap of his fingers, Night Shadow watched as a small, knife-like stroke of dark energy flew across the man's neck. The guard's throat was cut open and he dropped to the ground, taking in his few last breaths until he died. He transformed himself into dark energy and phased through the door, taking on his solid human form once he was through. True, he could have done that in the first place, but he had forgotten how good it felt to take a life, especially when that life was helping those who harmed someone he loved. His eyes widened as he saw what he had come here looking for. The child had wet blonde hair and his blue eyes were closed. His skin was even paler than usual and he was hooked up to several machines, one monitoring his heart, the other monitoring his brain waves. Seeing the child he wanted to protect strapped to some cold, metal table as scientists crowded around him, made something within the man snap.
No one harmed his boy.
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Wordcount: 440 Lyrics: none Character(s): Charles Caster/Night Shadow/Nebula Comments: gonna post with Dylan real quick for this :P Written by: Tiger Geme/Ishi Tags: Dylan/Open Everything had happened so quickly that it hadn't made much noise. Now, if one were to go to the room that belonged to Dylan Caster at the Titan's Tower, they would find the door would slide open and the room would be a complete mess, with a hole blown through the wall and the blond nowhere in sight. How could all of that happened without anyone noticing? Or no one rushing to the rescue? He certainly didn't know, nor did he know what was currently being done to him. All he knew was that whatever they were doing to him, wasn't a good thing. Why him? Why couldn't they just leave him alone? Why was he so special to them that they had to come and take him back? What had he done to deserve to go through this living Hell again?
The young Australian felt his body strapped onto a cold, metal surface, most likely a table. The table was up, making him feel as if he was standing straight, but his feet weren't touching the floor. His hair was soaked as was his body after being dunked in some sort of liquid he couldn't identify time and time again. He coughed a few times, trying to get the last of the strange liquid out of his lungs. His vision swam with bright dots of light as he squinted his eyes open. He was still wearing the light blue denim jeans he had been when they had abducted him, but his shoes and socks were gone as was his shirt. He could feel them stick something onto his chest, most likely to monitor his heart, before feeling them stick something similar on each of his temples.
Mimick's head throbbed as the table was lowered into its normal position. He tightly shut his eyes as soon as he found himself looking up into a bright white light that made his head ache even more. With his eyes shut, he couldn't see anything, but he could hear the noises that sent shivers down his spine. He could hear the familiar squeaky wheels of a small table being rolled by where he lay. He knew on that table was a tray with several tools that most would think only a doctor would use. He felt a hand covered by a latex glove lay against his chest before feeling a finger trace a line down his chest, obviously showing the other scientists where they were going to cut into him. Why they were doing this, he didn't know.
The teenager's heart was pounding in his chest, trying to focus his mind on anything but what was going to happen to him. He knew there was a high chance that whatever they were going to do, was going to kill him. He didn't want to die. He thought about Alex and how depressed she had seemed lately. He couldn't leave her to a world which she found no hope in. If he died, she might resort to killing herself and he couldn't let that happen. He needed her and she needed him. But... what could he do? He was strapped to a table about to be dissected.

The scientists looked in his direction and he could see a glint of fear in their eyes and it almost made him grin. He wanted them to fear him; he wanted them to regret taking his son, his child. His actions were quick and swift. He didn't even use his powers, grabbing a scientist by the lab-coat and practically throwing him across the room. Adrenaline pumped through his veins as he fought off the rest before rushing to his son's side. He ran a gloved hand over the boy's cheek, muttering soothing words to him. This was his fault, this was all his fault. He had left his son at the orphanage and thus the Testing Facility had taken him and now they had taken him back. If only he had found some way to leave Nebula and raised the boy on his own.
"I'm so sorry, kiddo," the man quietly said as he unlatched his son's wrists and ankles from the table. He slipped his arms behind Dylan's back and slowly and gently lifted him up. "I'm here now. I'm gonna keep you safe." He could feel the boy's fragile body shaking in his arms and it tore at his heart. He could have prevented this. He could have gotten to know his son better instead of keeping his distance. He could have insisted on Mimick living with him instead of leaving him vunlerable at the Titan's Tower. This was all his fault and he knew it. He wished he could just freeze time and hold his child in his arms, where the boy was safe. No one could tear him apart from his son, not even the boy's hot-headed, bad-tempered girlfriend.
Pulling back from the back, Night Shadow rubbed the back of Dylan's neck with his glove. He frowned as he heard the scientists groaning, knowing they had to leave now. "C'mon, kiddo. Let's get you home." he said, helping the boy down. He took a step away from the teenager. His eyes widened when he felt a cold hand quickly grab his wrist. Only two words ran through his head as he realized that Dylan's hand had made contact with his bare skin.
Oh shit.

Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Dylan/Open Dylan could hear his father's voice, but it sounded so distant and almost like it wasn't even there. At first, he thought he was imagining things. Why would Charles be here? How would the man even know he was here? All his doubts faded away, though, when he felt the man's firm arms around him, supporting him. He could feel his body trembling against his father, fear rippling through his and crashing down like a wave. "I wanna go home." he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. He shakily got to his feet with his father's help, staggering a bit before getting a hold of his footing. His eyelids felt heavy and he wanted to close them, but he had to keep them open. He had to get out and get as far away as he could.
The young Australian caught the sight of Charles moving away. No. His tired mind came up with the idea that the man was going to leave him here. His hand shot out and he grabbed the man's wrist. By the time he realized he had made contact with his father's skin, it was too late. Pain shot through his body and he let out a yelp. He quickly released Charles' wrist and grasped his head, tightly shutting his eyes. He doubled over, wrapping an arm around his stomach and coughing. His body wasn't used to having Charles' powers. Now his body was trying to adapt to being able to transform into dark energy, just like Charles' had several years ago.
Mimick whimpered, coughing up blood. He felt himself get picked up by who he hoped was his father. He curled up in the man's arms, hearing voices snapping and yelling at them to stop. He prayed Charles wouldn't listen to them. He didn't want the man to stop. He wanted to get home, where he felt safe. Maybe when he was safe, the pain would go away.
Wordcount: 323 Lyrics: none Character(s): Dylan Caster/Mimick/Hero Comments: none Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Charles/OpenCharles' mind raced as he watched his son cough up blood. Crap, crap, crap! He quickly picked the boy up in his arms, frowning as he heard the scientists waking up. If they tried to get his son away from him, then he'd put them to sleep for good. No one messed with his son. "Shh, everything's gonna be okay, Dylan." He tried to calm the boy down, listening to the child's whimpering and feeling his body trembling. He had to get them out of here. He remembered when his body had first gotten used to his powers. He had almost died from bloodloss. He wasn't sure why his powers had caused him to cough him so much blood, but it had and he didn't want that happening to his son.
But where would he take him?
The hospital, he had to take him there. Once there he could treat his son correctly. But first he had to get them out of this damn testing facility. He picked up his pace and bolted out of the room, making sure to keep his son in his arms. Anyone who got in his way, he sent a wave of dark energy at them. He didn't care whether he killed them or not. All that mattered was getting his boy to safety. That was all the mattered to him.

You always see the beauty In a passing cloud [atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp110/Digidestinedcreater725/alicia-josipovic.jpg,true]
Kenna stood outside the restaurant, waiting for her date. She felt uncomfortable in the outfit she had picked out, never having really worn a dress before except for on Paradise Island, the home of the Amazons. Even then, though, she hadn't been comfortable in one especially after all that had happened with her ex-girlfriend, Annie. Not to mention she was freezing from head to toe. The night was cold as she waited for Cheyenne and she was freezing her ass off. It wasn't a good way to start the night, but she had to put it aside. She wanted to have fun tonight; she wanted to for once enjoy a relationship she was in. She hadn't enjoyed her relationship with Annie at all, having been practically turned into a slut. That was one of the main reasons why she did not like being touched sexually at all. She didn't even enjoy being touched like holding hands or a friend grabbing her shoulder. She didn't like human contact unless she was comforting her brother, that was the only exception.
Frowning as she glanced back at the restaurant, the young Amazon noted how it was by the sea. It probably served seafood, but she wasn't sure. Folding her arms across her chest and lightly bouncing on her toes, she tried to keep herself warm. She had grown up in Miami and Paradise Island, where it was warm most of the time during the year. She hated the cold, she honestly hated it. She was in a bitter mood and it was obvious by the look on her face. Her eyes went to several couples as they walked into the restaurant, noting how each was a straight couple. She wasn't sure about public displays of affection, but she knew it was more common for straight couples than a couple like her and Cheyenne, where they were both girls.
Wonderstar forced a smile onto her face, figuring Cheyenne would be arriving shortly. She had her communicator perched onto her ear, just in case she was needed by the team. She had told them she would be going out tonight, but of course if they needed help, she would be one of the first to respond, date or no date. To her, saving lives was more important than her own personal life. It may have been harsh, but that was how she saw things. In her mind, her girlfriend came second to her job as a member of Young Justice. Though she made a mental note that if any villain did interrupt her date, she would smash them into a pile of dust. Growing impatient, she stomped a booted foot onto the ground.
"Cheyenne, where are you?" |

This was why she hated taking taxis, but she really didn't have much of a choice with this one. No one had been available to drive her to her date and she couldn't drive. Cursing in her native tongue at the crazed driving as he sped through a red light, Cheyenne again for the hundredth time during that drive wished she had had the ability to fly. That was one of the abilities that genetics decided to screw her with and leave her to rely on these terrifying mechanics. She had always been jealous of those who could fly, and now was especially one of those times. Though, it wasn't just the power to fly that she had been unfortunate to not receive. She had never liked the fact that she hadn't even really received even half of her mother's abilities, and it sort of irritated her that her genetics had treated her as such. There would've been so much more she could've done if she had the ability to fly or teleportation. But, no. She was stuck with a limited ability of telepathy that only really worked with animals, and a weak power of telekinesis.
But, there really was no point in complaining now. She was stuck with the powers she had and there was nothing she could do to fix that. And, that was why she would have to just deal with the taxi driver's crazed driving abilities. A faint sigh of relief slipped through the young teen as the restaurant came into the view, but that didn't help her relax at all even when he did finally came to a halt -- which resulted with her slamming into the back of the front seats. "Maldita sea! Está tratando de matarme de mierda?!", she yelled at the man in her native tongue, hurriedly getting out of the car. "Hey, sweetheart, how about a tip, huh?"
, was the driver's only reply as he smirked at her, snapping the teen's final nerve. "Que casi me matan, y ahora creo que voy a darle una propina de mierda! Lárgate de aquí antes de vencer a la puta de mierda!", she yelled just as he drove off, obviously out in a good mood now because of that. Unfortunately, she had failed to notice that Kenna had been standing there at the doorway. In a huff, she quickly turned around before stopping in her spot, blushing as she looked at her girlfriend. Well...that had been an excellent way to show up to a date. "Oh...um...H-Hi.", she said, her voice a bit quiet as she stepped up to her. As she finally cooled down to a reasonable point, Cheyenne's eyes wandered over the girl's form, taking in her outfit and the beauty that she saw in her. A faint smile twitched onto her face as she stepped a bit closer to her. "...you look beautiful, Kenna."[/blockquote][/blockquote] EVEN IF WE'RE APART now we're joined at the heart WORDCOUNT;: 517 LYRICS;: I Will ALways Be With You - Disney's All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 COMMENTS;: Ehhh, not exactly the best, but there ya go. xP TAGGED;: Kenna And you don't Think twice [atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp110/Digidestinedcreater725/alicia-josipovic.jpg,true]
Kenna Prince watched her girlfriend practically scream her lungs out. So her girlfriend was late and pissed off? That was never a good combination. And that type of combination was usually enough to put her in a bad mood as well. Folding her arms across her chest, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to tell that her mood was getting worse. She forced a smile at the compliment, as if it was something nice to hear. She heard compliments all the time, so they weren't anything new... not even when they came from her girlfriend. "Thanks," she spoke perfectly as if she was honored by the compliment. The only thing that might have given away how she was feeling, was the fact that she didn't blush.
It wasn't that she didn't like her girlfriend, in fact she liked her a lot. She was just still a bit confused when it came to romance. And she wasn't entirely sure what Cheyenne wanted from her. There had to be something she wanted, right? No one was ever nice to her unless they wanted something from her. Then again... she had originally had the same issue with Josh and Travis, and that had ended in a huge lecture from her leader. He had claimed that the only thing he wanted from her was her trust and friendship. That was still something, though. So what did Cheyenne want from her?
So far, her girlfriend had seemed to respect her space. She hadn't tried to touch her in awhile and they hardly ever kissed, let alone made-out. But how long would it last? She had heard of couples breaking up or someone being cheated on because they wanted to wait and their partner didn't. Then again, it wasn't like the Amazon was a virgin. Possibly Cheyenne was, but she wasn't. She had been in a very intimate relationship with a girl from Paradise Island, something she had kept from Cheyenne. What had gone on in that relationship was the main reason why she didn't like to be touched.
"You look good too," Wonderstar eventually said, though her eyes only glanced at her girlfriend for a quick moment before looking at the restaurant. "Wanna go in now?" |

Where has the starlight gone dark is the day Jeremy was silent as he stretched himself out on the prickly grass that crunched underneath his weight. Ever since the death of Carlos, he had secluded himself from reality and avoided people all together, though...his behavior seemed to be changing once again. He didn't know what to think of it any more, and it practically made no sense to him. Carlos had returned, but it wasn't him. He wasn't the same, and to make it worse, he didn't even remember him! He didn't know what to do. He was almost scared to involve himself with the boy. He didn't want to give up his hopes for something that would most likely crumble in front of him and leave him heart broken once more. Hell, it would probably break him farther than the originally break had been. He was terrified of that thought. He had been a disaster, drinking until he passed out, going to the hospital on more than one occasion because of his carelessness with alcohol. He knew what he had been doing the entire time, but he had almost been trying to kill himself, he just never had the balls to actually do it. But, if he was broken down once more, he might not be so scared to.
Rolling onto his side, Phantom stared at a small beetle that clumsily crawled up a stalk of grass, only to lose its grip once it reached the tip and fell to the ground. The phaser did nothing at first, only watching the insect struggling to flip onto its legs, thrashing about and flailing its legs. Eventually, he gently picked the bug up and turned it over in his palm, staring at its glossy, black wing case before it suddenly flew off. Jeremy tilted his head to the side for a moment, watching the retreating form of the insect until he could no longer see its tiny form. For once in awhile, his body relaxed as he laid back down, his mind remaining on the bug. That was how he felt at the moment. He had finally reached the top, only to fall and remain stuck on his back, unable to roll over. He was lost and he was struggling to get through it all. he wasn't even sure if he could get through it. It was all just too much for him, and he didn't know what would send him back spiraling to the ground. How can i find my way home WORDCOUNT;: 405 LYRICS;: Endless Night - The Lion King Broadway COMMENTS;: Eh, I got nothing. =/ TAGGED;: Open Raptor slinked through the grass as a sleak white cat, his red eyes looking around for some prey. He saw a bird on the ground and crouched low. His tail flicked in the air playfully, unaware of Jeremy being nearby. He stalked the bird, watching it's feathery body hop along the ground looking for bugs. Though his clothes disappeared when he transformed--- only to somehow appear again when he transformed back ---the collar around his neck stayed. Finally, he got close enough to the bird. He crouched down lower, his back shaking before he pounced. His paws landed on the bird just as it tried to get away. He pushed it against the ground and grinned.
The young demon lay down and sniffed the bird, the creature flapping its wings and trying to get away. He picked the bird up by the neck, keeping it alive. He stood up and looked around, his eyes finally noticing Jeremy. He strode over to the phaser, setting the bird down once he got to him and placing his paws on it yet again so it wouldn't get away. He let out a quiet meow, the collar around his neck making it obvious it was him. He looked up at the boy proudly, glad he had caught the bird. It would make a nice snack for him.
Whisper transformed back into his demon form, his long white hair tied back into a tail. His cat ears were perched on top of his head and his tail swayed against the grass. His hands were on top of the bird, which had started to peck at his skin. He hissed as his nails turned into claws. He was tempted to just kill the bird right then and there. But he didn't. He looked up at Jeremy, a smile on his face and pride in his eyes. "Jeremy! Look what I caught!" he cheered like a child. He wanted to impress the boy who seemed to have quickly become his friend. He felt comfortable around Phantom and safe. Though he disliked humans, he liked the dark-haired boy. He liked him a lot.

Eyes widening slightly as he stared at the bird hanging from the feline's jaw, he almost went to smack the creature before his eyes caught the blue collar on its neck. Ah, great. It was Him. Feeling himself shrink slightly at the realization, the phaser stared at the boy as he transformed, his expression holding a look of disgust. How could Raptor bare to do stuff like this? Yeah, he ate meat and stuff, but he never had the balls to actually kill a living thing. That was one of his issues with this...whatever it was called. He looked very much like Carlos, but he was nothing like him, and this was probably a perfect example. Carlos was so much gentler towards animals and would never do something like that, animal instinct or not. Shaking his head, Phantom slightly attempted to push the teen off the poor critter.

Whisper sat down near the dark-haired boy, playfully meowing and pawing at the boy's leg. Humans often thought the way he was acting was cute and would give him attention. Usually humans enjoyed petting a cat, and he hoped Phantom would too. "I didn't mean to make you upset, Jeremy." he explained, leaning over and licking the boy's hand. He wasn't sure why he was so fond of the boy, but he liked him and liked him a lot. Transforming back into his demon form, he blushed at the closeness between him and Jeremy. "You don't like me, do you?" the demon asked, feeling his heart pounding in his chest. "Or do you not know what to think?"

Sighing with frustration, Jeremy ran both his hands down over his face, almost feeling bad for the demon. Almost. After a moment, he let his hands drop down, resting them on his knees. He wasn't really in the greatest of moods at the moment. Of course, he hardly was in the mood for anything after Carlos died. Gradually glancing over at the small, balled up cat, the dark-haired boy couldn't help but find that somewhat cute. He had always been fond of cats and that was honestly one of his weak spots that he tried to keep to himself. He couldn't let Whisper know that he liked cats, otherwise that would just encourage the demon to keep bothering him. Watching the feline, a brief thought fluttered over his mind. Maybe he was being a bit harsh on him. Yeah, he didn't completely like the boy, but maybe it was because he refused to let himself get to know him. Perhaps if he actually let him in at least a little bit, then it might not be so terrible to have him around.
Tilting his head to the side as Raptor pawed at his pants, he wondered what was going through his mind. Paying close attention to his movements, Phantom tensed up slightly as he felt the rough tongue of the feline run over his hand. And, it sent a sort of jolt through him. Something under the lines of comfort that he hadn't felt for awhile. Staring at the cat-eared boy that appeared in front of him once more, he felt his heart speed up slightly at how close he seemed to be. "I-I...I don't know what to think right now", he said as he looked away. He really didn't know how he felt towards the small demon. A part of him sometimes just wanted to yell and scream at him to go away. But at the same time, he wanted him to stay. He didn't want to be left alone again. Hesitantly looking back up at Whisper, Jeremy felt himself relax slightly as he decided to take this all a different way. To give the boy a chance, and maybe even give him the chance of being more than just friends. I'm trying to hold on, Just waiting to hear you voice WORDCOUNT;: 371 LYRICS;: Endless Night - The Lion King Broadway COMMENTS;: Eh, I got nothing. xP TAGGED;: Whisper/Open Raptor leaned forward, nuzzling Jeremy's neck. He closed his eyes and pulled away. "I-I'm sorry... I keep bugging you, don't I? It's just... I'm sort of alone it seems...." His ears lowered as he scooted a bit away from the phaser, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. He lowered his head and put his gaze onto the ground. He squirmed a bit in his spot before getting comfy again. Maybe... he liked Jeremy, but more than a simple friendship kind of like, though he didn't think they were even friends at this point. He remembered Kira teaching him about love and crushes, but he and Jeremy were both guys. Was it okay for two guys to like each other as more than friends? He certainly didn't know.
Whisper slinked closer to Phantom, almost leaning against him. His cat ears twitched as a gentle breeze blew by, causing his snow white hair to move a bit in it. His tail swayed back and forth in a playfull mannor as he found himself nuzzling the phaser's neck again, his movements practically begging the boy to like him. "You're not like most humans, are you?" he asked, a low purr rising in his throat. He looked up at Jeremy with his red eyes before shifting into his human form. His long white hair turned short and black and his cat ears and tail disappeared. He closed his eyes and when he opened them again, two light blue eyes identical to Carlos' stared up at the phaser.
Before he knew what he was doing, the teenage demon leaned forward and pressed their lips together gently. His blue eyes tried to flutter close but he kept them half-way open, wanting to see Jeremy's reaction and praying it would be positive. He noticed that when their lips met, his heart fluttered in his chest and a sort of warmth went through his body. He felt himself relax as his hand slowly crept onto Jeremy's. He tilted his head a bit in an attempt to deepen the kiss, hoping he wasn't going to far.

The gesture sent a spark of excitement through him, something he hadn't felt for a long time and practically missed it. The close physically contact had come to a screeching halt as soon as Carlos had died. Hell, it had probably stopped even before the banshee had passed. The boy's health had slowly deteriorated during his last days alive and they hadn't managed to do anything together, sexually at least. Closing his eyes for a moment as the feeling gradually faded, the phaser looked at the demon, his heart now pounding in his chest. He wasn't exactly sure what to do at this point of time. A part of him wanted to pull away and just yell at the demon, but he honestly couldn't say why he would be yelling. The teen seemed to only be trying to be accepted by him, and maybe even something a little more than that.
Growing a bit nervous and anxious, Phantom tried to decide on what to do as he felt Raptor just barely lean against him. His first reaction was to wrap his arm around the boy's waist, to pull him closer against him just to get that pleasant warmth of another body. But, he held himself back as he felt his body react in a different way, almost leaning against Whisper in return. The demon may not have been like Carlos, or really anywhere near the boy he had loved, but there was still something about him that lighted a familiar feeling in his chest. This attraction was something he couldn't actually name, not even sure if it had been the same thing with Carlos, but whatever it was, he liked it. His hands lightly clenched his pants as his breathing sped up a bit, wanting to feel that jolt he had previously felt, but the nuzzle wasn't good enough any more.
With his hand twitching with anticipation, Jeremy felt his common sense drain out of him, his mind no longer caring who it was that he got the attention from as his raging hormones and sexual cravings took control. Shivering with excitement at the low purr in Raptor's voice, encouraging the raw feeling in his body that wanted the attention that he had been deprived of. But, that all instantly vanished as he felt the demon press their lips together. No, this was all too much at one time. His eyes shot open as he jerked his head away, refusing to believe that he had almost betrayed the banshee and allowed Raptor to get so close to him. He loved Carlos, and if he really loved him as much as he said he did, then he didn't need the love and company of another...right? WHen will the dawning break oh, endless night WORDCOUNT;: 473 LYRICS;: Endless Night - The Lion King Broadway COMMENTS;: Moop =3 TAGGED;: Whisper/Open Raptor stared at Jeremy, eyes misting as the boy quickly pulled away from him. His purr quickly died down and he scooted away from the phaser. Staring at the ground, he wondered how he could have possibly been so stupid. He wasn't sure what emotion he was feeling at the moment, but he didn't like it. His hand slinked up to his chest and grasped at his shirt, his heart aching. He couldn't remember ever feeling this bad before in his short life. Tightly shutting his eyes as a tear slid down his cheek, the demon was quick to speak, despite wanting to just crawl into a hole and rot there for the rest of his life. "I-I'm so sorry!" he said quickly before getting up. He cursed himself for not being able to control his own emotions. He was still getting used to this body, used to life. When his emotions came, he couldn't control them and they went wild. Now, he seemed to be paying the price.
Whisper didn't say anything else as he turned and ran. He wasn't sure if that was the best choice of what to do, but he did it anyway. He felt humiliated and embarrassed. Obviously Phantom didn't feel the same way about him; why couldn't he have just seen that?! Why had he taken a risk and kissed the other boy?! It was stupid and he should have known that. He ran as far as his legs would take him, which was far it seemed. His legs ached by the time he stopped, having ran to the whole other side of the park. He didn't care if people stared at him as he cried. If anyone gave him a look or tried to approach them, he hissed at them with his vampire fangs showing. Soon he was practically alone, like it seemed he always was.
It seemed whenever he found someone, whenever he thought he had a friend or possibly more, he was mistaken. He first had Kira, but she had died and when he thought he might have Jeremy, he screwed it up. Crumpling to his knees, the teenager wrapped an arm around his stomach while his other arm held his hand over his mouth. He tightly shut his eyes as he mumbled over and over again how he hated humans. He slitted his eyes open and crawled into a bunch of bushes, finding a small spot in-between all of them where he curled into a ball and continued to cry, wanting the pain to be gone. He tried to get his tears under control, calling himself a crybaby out loud as he sniffled and wiped his nose with his sleeve. He could feel the streaks his tears had left dry only to have fresh ones run on the path again, moistening his cheeks. He hid his face in his knees, his shoulders shaking with sobs.

He was so confused. Carlos, he had to wait for Carlos to return. That was why he was waiting every day to find him, praying that the boy would return as he promised. But...could the banshee really keep that promise? It had been a month, maybe even two since the day the white-haired teen was suppose to come back, but he never saw any kind of sign that would suggest it. Maybe...maybe he really wasn't coming back. His expression was unresponsive as his eyes followed the demon, not even registering that the boy was gone. But, as the moments slipped by and that cold, empty feeling came crawling back, Jeremy longed for the attention he had just received. To have such a passionate and energetic relationship with the banshee for so long then to have it yanked away in an instant severely hurt his sexual carvings, making them sensitive to even the simplest touch.
Those nuzzles, the closeness, it had all aroused his need for that physically contact he had been so cruelly deprived from. Letting his shoulders slump faintly, Jeremy felt his hormones command his movements as he stumbled onto his feet, finding it a bit difficult to stand for the first few moments before going after the boy. No, he wasn't Carlos, but he had that softness, that caring gestures that he had come to love of the banshee in the first place. Perhaps this boy, this demon he had only found to be irritating could in fact heal the wounds that he had failed to attend to himself. Looking around for the cat-like teen, Phantom cursed and damned himself for having been sitting there for so long, having no idea which way he had gone. he had hardly paid attention to Raptor's departure, having been lost in his own thoughts and memories to focus on the fleeing teen.
That was why he felt so relieved when he finally spotted him, though that sense of relief quickly drained from his being as he watched the dark-haired teen. Feeling a faint jerk tug on his heart, Jeremy hesitantly approached Whisper, not sure how to speak after having rejected the demon so harshly. He felt bad for it, guilty even for his stupidity. He had been given something to cherish and perhaps even build on a relationship that could possibly grow and he had pushed it away without even giving it a chance. His eyes were rimmed with red and felt dry from his crying. He continued to sniffle every now and then, but no tears came out anymore. Sticky trails that the teardrops had flowed down felt strange on his cheeks, but he made no motion to wipe them away. His cat ears appeared on his head in a tiny flash of white light that left silver sparkles in the air, the usual affect of his magic, and the same thing happened when his tail appeared. His cat ears were low, pressed against his head in a submissive way. His tail flicked back and forth against the grass, pushing a couple leaves from the bushes aside. He felt his heart skip a beat when he heard his crush's voice speak his name. His ears perked up at the sound of his name and his eyes went onto Jeremy. Sniffling, he stayed where he was. He was too afraid to move toward the phaser, not wanting to get rejected again.
Yet he wanted the boy. The young demon felt his cat ears twitch with anticipation, wondering why Jeremy had followed him. Sure it had taken the boy some time to find him, obviously, but now there he stood in front of him, speaking his name. Just that simple gesture- following him and saying his name -put a smile on the demon's face. He felt his cheeks blush a faint shade of pink and shyly put his head back down in his knees with his eyes looking up at the boy he cared about. "Y-Yeah?" he finally managed to say, his voice barely above a whisper.
Sneezing as a piece of his dark hair tickled his nose, Whisper shook his head a bit before blushing out of embarrassment and shyly smiling up at Jeremy. He still felt hurt about what had happened earlier, but he was happy that Phantom had gone after him; he was really happy. Maybe his crush didn't hate or despise him? He sure hoped so.

What if this was a mistake? What if he was doing the wrong thing and this didn't work out? No, he had to go through with this. He brought this up upon him, and he couldn't just suddenly let this go. He had to get over the fact that Carlos was gone. He couldn't continue to live like this forever. Deeply inhaling as he tried to sort out his mind and decide what he was going to do and say, Phantom opened his mouth, but his voice failed to work. Blushing faintly at his failed attempt to speak, the teenage phaser felt like the shy boy he had once been. He remembered what it was like during those days, always staying away from the large groups and always getting nervous whenever he tried to talk to a boy he thought was cute.
Blush darkening as the embarrassing memories came up, he quickly shoved them away. This wasn't the time to be lingering on his memories, he had a job at hand and he couldn't keep the boy just sitting there waiting for a response. Swallowing hard, Jeremy hesitantly lowered himself to the demon's level, his heart pounding in his chest as his mixed, and confused emotions filled his mind. Clearing his throat slightly as he tried to get his voice to work, Jeremy finally broke the silence that had grown between them. "I-I'm...I'm sorry, Raptor. I didn't...want you to leave. I was just...", he paused, not sure how to explain his rude, inappropriate behavior. He wasn't even sure if there was an explanation to justify the way he had reacted and had caused the boy to be so heartbroken.

He rested his chin on his knees, blinking as he listened to the older boy. His cat ears lowered slightly as guilt struck him like a cold, sharp knife. Jeremy hadn't wanted him to leave? He felt the need to apologize to his crush for leaving, but his voice couldn't work as well. He was still afraid of screwing up.
Licking his lips, the demon tried to get his voice to work. He managed to croak out a few words, wanting to reassure Phantom that everything was alright. "It's oka-" his words and quiet voice was cut off, though, as he felt something press against his lips, catching his mouth while it had been partly open. His eyes widened and he blushed even more- if that was possible -when he realized that Jeremy was kissing him. He was hesitant at first, remembering what had happened when he had kissed Jeremy. It didn't take him long, though, to respond, hungrily but gently kissing back.
Whisper closed his eyes and could hear himself start to purr. His tail flicked faster and more frequently across the grass as his heart rate picked up. He lowered his legs so he could scoot closer to Phantom, his hands resting on the phaser's knees.

A cave wasn't his first choice of where to have a date with his lovely girlfriend, but the Kent family farm was too far away and he didn't want to deal with his father. So young Travis Kent had decided to take his girlfriend, Maddison Hawkins, to the Silkie Caves. He had dressed nice for the occasion despite the fact that the girl was blind. Well, he dressed in what was his definition of nice. He wore a white cowboy hat on top of his head; a white t-shirt with a short-sleeve white and red checkered button up shirt, unbottoned over it; faded denim jeans covered his legs and dusty, white sneakers covered his feet. He probably looked like a hill-billy to most, but in the Kent family this was the way to dress up, unless you were going to Sunday Service at church. The teenager set up a picnic blanket on the ground before putting down a basket full of food which he hoped his girlfriend would love. He had baked everything by hand, with the help of Connor of course.
The half-Kryptonian glanced up at the blonde before smoothing out the blanket. Everything had to be perfect in his mind because he was spending the day with the most perfect girl. He loved Maddi with all his heart and hoped that her feelings for him would never fade. He knew his feelings would stay the same, if not they would only grow more and more. Someday, when they were old enough, he wanted to marry her and treasure her for the rest of their lives. Not even death would break him apart from her. He only wished she could see. He wasn't much to look at- at least he thought so -but he couldn't even imagine how he would feel if he couldn't see Maddi. Sure that meant that she liked him for who he was, but she couldn't even picture him when she thought about him. He had described himself to her, but he saw mostly his faults and probably couldn't due himself justice.
There were several downsides to dating a blind person, but the young hero didn't care. Yes, it meant he couldn't show her his home or take her horse back riding in fear that she would hurt herself, but he was still able to spend time with her. Someday, though, he would give her sight. He didn't care if it was medically impossible. There had to be something in the galaxy and even the universe that could do it. He would find that something no matter what. He would give her sight so she could see the beauties all around her. Of course, everything was ugly when compared to her. She looked like a goddess to him, but that wasn't why he liked her. He liked her because of who she was. She was smart, kind, and caring. She was one of the few people that he could never and would never get tired of spending time with. Even members of Young Justice drove him crazy every now and then, but she never did. She was the one for him, he knew it.
But how much time did he have to spend with her?
He was dying, he knew it. He had liquid kryptonite running through his veins that had yet to kill him only because Josh had created a serum to give to him. But nothing could cure him. The kryptonite had reached his brain once and he had almost killed Josh, his leader. Superstar was honestly scared to death of what he might do if it happened again. And if enough kryptonite went into his heart, he would die. He had yet to tell his father and mother this, in fact he had lost contact with them since he had joined Young Justice. How could he face them now? He was their son that had always been a clutz on the farm and screwed up a lot. Sure he had become a hero, but he now had kryptonite in him. He wasn't even sure if he could see his dad without possibly harming him. It wasn't fair, but being the Christian he was, he had to tell himself that God had a plan. What kind of plan? He wished he knew, but he didn't.
Mentally cursing, he stood up and gently grasped Maddi's hand. "Right this way, my princess," he said, blushing faintly as he went to lead her to the blanket, not wanting her to trip or anything. She was a flower to him, fragile and beautiful. He knew she had powers too, but he hadn't seen her use them. He figured she could handle herself in a fight, but when she was with him, he didn't want her to worry about taking care of herself. He wanted to take care of her and show her how much he loved her. |
[/blockquote]

Wordcount: 815 Lyrics: none Character(s): Travis Kent/Superstar/Young Justice Comments: damn I got on a role <3 Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Maddi She hadn't been expecting this. At all. What had been going through her mind while the boy had led her on there little trip was just a simple little picnic, but this, this was just amazing. No one hd ever done something like this before and it made her feel butterflies swarming in her stomach, and her heart leap in her chest from her affectionate for the teen she had fallen head over heels for. She had never met someone as caring and gentle as Travis was. He was someone she loved being around. He was smart, funny, and made her feel like she was the only one there on earth with him. Even though she couldn't actually see what exactly he had out, she could "see" the vibrations that came off the objects through the ground. But, it wasn't the same, and she was perfectly aware of that. Her blindness was the thing that pained her more than anything.
The inability to see the one she loved or she the beauty of the land or of the wonderful picnic setup he had laid out pained her more than she could describe. With her foggy, blue eyes staring blankly out in front of her, she tried to keep the thought out of her mind, not wanting to linger on such depressing thoughts when she had such a wonderful time waiting for her. As she quietly listened to the sounds of Travis shuffling about as he set everything up, she couldn't help but smile at the loving gesture. The half-kryptonian teen was always doing what he could to make her halt it seemed. He always managed to so the right things at the right times and always managed to be there when she needed it the most. At that moment, her thoughts wandered to what the future could hold for the two of them. Would they always be together? Would they grow old with each other and have kids of their own together? The thought of being with the boy for the rest of her life filled her heart with a sense of love and tenserness she held to no one except for him. She didn't even realize he was done setting it all up until she felt him grasp her hand, making her heart skip a beat.
Smiling as she followed him, she always had found it amusing of how careful he was with her. She had been able to see and find her way around just fine before she had met him, but he still insisted on helping her whenever she needed it. As he feet brushed over the soft fabric of the blanket, she gave a faint giggle as it tickled her skin. Grinning by then, Maddison carefully sat down, patting her hand next to her as a geature for him to sit next to her. She wanted to feel the warmth of his body next to hers, the softness of his skin, and the comfort that she always brought to her. ...this is amazing, Travis. Thank you., she said softly, smiling as she wondered what all he had planes.[atrb=width,360,true][atrb=background,http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp110/Digidestinedcreater725/4-2.jpg,true]
Travis stood up straight after helping her sit down, arching his back a bit to get rid of a cramp. He straightened and sat down next to her, brushing some of her hair behind her ear. His back was sore from training the previous day, but he dealt with it. After all, he wasn't nearly as sore as his teammates and allies were. Josh had gone easy on him and Ken during training, which only made the two boys feel weak compared to their friends. Pushing the thoughts out of his head, the young half-Kryptonian started to take out the food. "Are you hungry? I brought a cherry pie and some sandwiches. And some water." He made sure to keep his voice even, figuring that since she couldn't see, Maddi's other four senses were most likely more advanced than the average human. Then again, he wasn't even sure if she was human. They had never discussed that, though he figured she knew he was Kryptonian.
The teenage hero didn't want her to catch on to how tired he was. He wasn't necessarily tired from training, but something else it seemed. He could feel his energy draining more and more each day and with it, he felt sicker and sicker. He paled each time he thought about it, not wanting to ask what was causing it. He already knew the answer, though. Kryptonite. The kryptonite in his blood was starting to have a stronger affect on him. Also, the medicine Josh and Brainiac 6 and 6.5 had made for him was starting to lose its affect. The kryptonite was almost becoming immune to it. Was that even possible, though?
Forcing himself back to reality, Superstar glanced over at Maddison, smiling. His smile faded as he pulled his head away from her and coughed into his elbow, aiming away from her. He bit down hard on his lower lip in order to keep himself quiet as his skin burned. His eyes widened as he noticed he had coughed out a little blood... and specks of a glowing green liquid littered his red blood. He quickly grabbed a napkin and wiped off his arm, shoving the napkin into his back pocket afterwards. He had forgotten to take some extra medicine with him just in case... and he hoped he wouldn't end up regretting it. |

I remember when we use to laugh Taking in a deep breath, Alex closed her eyes as she focused on the fire that rested in her core and pulled at it bit by bit. She could feel her arms warm up and tingle as her internal flame came to the surface, engulfing her hands with a bright orange glow, but that was as far as it got. The girl silently swore under her breath as she broke her concentration, her frustration reaching dangerous levels. She couldn't understand why, but she no longer had the control over her powers like she use to. She couldn't call upon them every time she tried to or they would flare up when she didn't want them to. It didn't make any sense though! Nothing had changed with her or how she lived. It was the same old routine, same old life she had always had, so why was this happening to her?! Running her hands through her hair, the small standing girl let out a defeated sigh as she kneeled onto the ground. What was the point of being a part of this team if he powers wouldn't even work?
After a few moments, Alexandra gradually dragged her gaze up to the dark sky above her. The weather was warming up and they actually had clear skies for once, which made the view that much greater. The stars were twinkling above her, bringing a small smile onto her face. She wondered what it would be like up there. He tapped his left pointer finger against the plastic container. The tiny creature gave no reaction, which was odd. It usually scurried over and looked as if it were attempting to talk to the teen. The young Australian didn't think too much about it, though. Instead he just frowned, disappointed, and sat down on his bed. His eyes hovered over the objects in his simple, ordinary room. The walls were white and bare. They were in need of seveal posters, the teenage boy thought. They were plain and boring in his opinion. He liked going into Collin and Sai's rooms, where posters and pictures of family and friends littered the small rooms.
Standing up, the blonde pulled his yellow t-shirt off and threw it into his laundry basket, making a mental note to clean the mountain of clothes in the basket. He looked down, deciding he was fine in the pair of light blue denim jeans he was currently wearing. He opened his closet, being greeted by several new garments that he had gotten at the mall when Collin had taken him shopping. He slipped a black turtle-neck over his slender figure before tying on a pair of black and yello sneakers. He walked over to his nightstand and grabbed a pair of sleak black leather gloves, pulling them onto his hands. His powers were evolving and becoming harder for the teenage hero to control. Thankfully he didn't have to worry about his powers around Catgirl and Quickshot, but around Alex he had to be careful.
Mimick ran a hand through his hair as he exited his room. He made his way to the roof, wanting to get some fresh air. He smiled when he saw the familiar figure with the short red hair that belonged to his girlfriend. "Hey," he said as he walked up behind her. He gently poked her in the side before standing beside her. He pulled his eyes away from her, not wanting to stare like a love sick puppy. He figured he was love sick since no matter what he did, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He loved everything about her. He loved the way she smiled and how her eyes seemed to glow to him, like fire. She was everything to him and he hoped she felt the exact same way about him.

"Oh, h-hey, Dylan.", she said quietly, shyly smiling up at her boyfriend, though her smile didn't last long as her eyes returned to their interest in the stars. As much as she enjoyed the blonde's company, she honestly wasn't in the mood to be around...well, anyone at the moment. She just felt depressed to be blunt. Maybe it was the fact that she had gotten over some kind of cold and was still feeling out of it, or maybe it was something else. Either way, she felt like crap, and the fact that her powers weren't working like they should've been wasn't helping in any way, shape, or form. Sighing quietly, she pulled her legs to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and resting her chin on her knees. Glancing up at Mimick, Alexandra could just feel the questions that she figured would be coming up any second now.
That was one of the things that seemed to bug her in a way. He was always asking questions 24/7 and at times it never seemed to stop. If one thing was off with someone, then he'd go into this whole interrogation thing where he'd ask you a million questions just to get the same answer that said person was fine. He just didn't know when to stop and leave people alone. At the thought, Torch felt a sort of irritation at the young blonde that she'd never experienced before. She almost snapped at him right then and there even though he had yet to even speak. But, it would be no surprise if her tone became cold towards him if he did start asking questions. We're going through Forget them all WORDCOUNT;: 315 LYRICS;: Those Nights - Skillet COMMENTS;: I have a bit of a bad feeling about this. >> TAGGED;: Dylan/Open Dylan frowned. What was Alex's problem? She just seemed so distant lately and frankly it annoyed the living Hell out of him. She seemed irritated every time he asked her a question instead of answering it like she wanted to help him understand things like she usually did. Even now, he could see in her eyes that she was tempted to snap at him. What had he even done?! Nothing! It may not have appeared like it, but the teenager did not take crap from no one, not even his girlfriend. If she didn't want to tell him what was wrong then he wouldn't ask. It was only his business if he or she made it that way. Plus he had enough to worry about on his own.
Mimick still had issues with his father and it didn't help that his girlfriend seemed against him giving the man a chance. It was his family, not her's. So why did she seem to feel the need to butt in? He didn't get involved with her family affairs if she even had any. Was it so wrong for him to want to forgive his father? Was he not allowed to get along with the man? Was he not allowed to try to have a happy family? She had grown up with a family, whether it had been a nice family or not. He had grown up with no one.
The young Australian made no sound and no movement to speak. He didn't want to deal with it. He didn't care if he was called selfish or a bad person. It was all just drama and he was sick of it. Was it too much to ask for a nice, peaceful day with his girlfriend? Was it too much to ask for as little drama as possible? He swore girls came with nothing but drama. Then again Collin seemed to have a nice, easy life. The only drama she seemed to face was Nebula, at least it appeared that way. He wanted to only have to deal with Nebula. It would be easier since he father was a member of the group, he thought. The man did in fact seem like he would choose his son over his team. But that didn't seem like it would ever happen. He'd never be allowed to be selfish for even a little bit and focus on only his problems. No, he had Alex's problems and would be expected to help her. He would help her, of course, but he wondered why she never seemed to help him anymore. His world didn't revolve around her, after all.

Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Alex/Open Cause on those nights we would stand and never fall As Alex sat there in silence, she could feel Dylan's frustration and irritation just radiating off of him, and it almost made her uncomfortable. But, as she thought about it, she realized it was probably her fault. He had come up here to give her some company and all she had done was give him the cold shoulder. She didn't say anything to him and practically ignored him. If anyone had done that to her, then she was sure she'd feel the same too. Swallowing hard as the thought repeated itself over and over in her mind, she felt a feeling she couldn't name build up in her chest. It was the same emotion she always seemed to feel nowadays, building up inside her at random times, sometimes it was in response to something, but mostly it just came out of nowhere. The only way she could really describe it as was just a feeling that she wanted to burst into tears, but that only told of a small sliver of how she felt.
Tightening her hold around her legs, pressing them against her chest, Alexandra felt her shoulders tremble as she tried to keep a hold of herself. She just felt horrible. She felt worthless, pathetic, and she just wanted it all to stop. Moments like these just made it hurt to live. It made everything appear pointless and a waste of time. As the emotion built up to the breaking point, darker thoughts began to fill her mind. What was the point of living if everyone died in the end? What did it matter if she was gone? That was how most people were. Just useless, unnoticeable, and unknown to the world. Yes, there were the rare few who would be remembered for hundreds of years, their names and legacy forever embedded in the history of the world. But, when one actually thought about it, the hundreds of people who made a difference was only a small handful compared to the numbers of people who lived. What about the people who had lived at that time and died without being acknowledged by anyone? Really, what did it matter if she did anything 'important'? No one would remember her. Yes, after she died her family and friends would remember her, but what about once they died? After that no one would know her name. No one would even bother to think of her once she was gone, so why set goals for life? Why worry so much about what she did if none of it mattered in the end. With her stomach churning and her eyes watering, Torch choked back a quiet sob as her emotions spilled out of her. She felt nothing but pain now and she just wanted it to stop, not caring what was done to do so. Together we faced it all Remember when we'd WORDCOUNT;: 471 LYRICS;: Those Nights - Skillet COMMENTS;: Awww, poor Alex. =/ TAGGED;: Dylan/Open

Sometimes you fall down, can't get back up Midnight laid on the edge of the roof in silence, her bright purple eyes, staring blankly at the street below her. It had been a bit sad these past few weeks. She had practically been forgotten by everyone from both the Young Justice and Rider's Deck team. She would go up to people to look for attention - something she had actually come to like in a way - but no one ever seemed to notice her. Hell, she had even left for a few days and when she had finally returned, no one had even known she had left in the first place! Her fur bristled slightly at the thought as the black feline curled herself into a tight ball, her hard, cold eyes burning with a hint of anger in them, but that sliver of frustration drowned in the hurt in her large purple orbs. Was she really that unimportant? Did everyone just see her as a normal cat, just some pet that you could throw out whenever you wanted to? She thought she had been more important than that. She thought she had been part of the team.
Or, maybe that was just what she made herself believe. She didn't like human's to a point, but it wasn't because of the reason most people thought. Yes, she hated the men who tested on her and killed her family, but she knew not everyone was like that. The real reason was because she was jealous of them. She wanted to be human. She had just as much knowledge as any other human on this damned planet, yet she was only seen as a simple house cat. Flicking her ears forward for a moment, Shadow tightly closed her eyes, wishing she was just a normal house cat. If she couldn't be human, then she might as well be what she had always meant to be. Maybe then people would want to be around her. Maybe everyone wouldn't just see her as a some kind of freaky, mutant cat. We're hiding behind skin that's too tough WORDCOUNT;: 338 LYRICS;: Live Like We're Dying - Kris Allen COMMENTS;: Aww, poor Midnight =( TAGGED;: Open Harvey watched Midnight from the other end of the roof. He didn't know what was bothering her and it was eating him alive. He felt like he should know, but he didn't. He had certainly been worried when she had disappeared, thinking he had lost yet another valuable member of his team, and had been relieved when she had returned. He hadn't had time to mention it, though, or ask why she had left in the first place. Things were crazy as Hell lately and they seemed to refuse to die down. He couldn't just sit down and think or relax. There was no time. He left the thinking part to Josh, knowing the boy was a better leader than him. What he did was simply watch and do as he was told. Whenever asked what they should do, he simply replied that Josh would think of something. It had become a habit of his and now the words just seemed to roll of his tongue.
Jester felt like his world was falling apart, but he couldn't show it. All he could do was toss and turn in his bed and scream into his pillow, muffling the sound. He felt so small and weak. Nebula. This was all Nebula's fault. He had come to blame them for everything bad in his life. He blamed them for Carlos' death, for Arthur leaving Rider's Deck, for Lacey leaving Young Justice. He blamed them for Theodore becoming a drunken love-sick puppet and he blamed them for Midnight's unhappiness. He blamed them for all the evil in the world. He blamed them for everything bad.
Holding back a sigh, the teenage leader hesitantly approached the cat. He sat down next to her and ran a hand over the fur on her head, gently scratching behind her ears. "Mind telling me what's on your mind?" he asked softly. He glanced up at the sky and then looked back down at her. "I've been worried about you. So much Hell has been going on... It feels like we haven't talked in ages..." he mumbled the last few parts, bending his knee by lifting his leg up and propping his elbow on his knee, using his hand to hold his chin up.
Wordcount: 373 Lyrics: none Character(s): Harvey Napier --- Jester --- Rider's Deck Comments: none Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Midnight, Open How come we don't say I love you enough The Bombay feline jumped at the seemingly sudden appearance of Harvey, but she gradually relaxed after the surprise wore off. Flicking her tail from side to side, a faint purr vibrated in her throat as she felt the teen's fingers run over her head, leaning into his hand. She wasn't completely fond of being petted, but over the last week she had become a bit more affectionate and actually wanted some attention. Though, honestly, she always enjoyed attention from Jester. Closing her eyes as he scratched the muscle behind her ear, she felt herself relax as she lightly leaned into him. After a few moments of silence, Midnight opened her vibrantly bright eyes and looked up at her teammate. "...There really isn't much to say.", she answered, lying as she lowered her gaze. Her ear twitched as a breeze blew by, lowering her head onto her paws. She knew she should probably tell her friend her secret, but she wasn't sure if she was ready to tell him or anyone at the moment.
It had been about a week or so since she had left the base and gone MIA for a few days, but she hadn't told anyone what she had been doing in that time. It wasn't anything she had actually intended to do, it was just something she got from common feline instinct. Yawning, she gradually stood, stretching her front paws out as she curved her back before crawling to Harvey's side, rubbing her head against his arm, quietly meowing. For a moment, Shadow wondered what Harvey would say once she finally told him. She was he wouldn't mind, though there was still a faint sliver of doubt in her. Not to mention, she'd probably get a bunch of bitching and moaning from Cirna, but she'd deal with that later. 'Til it's too late, It's not too late WORDCOUNT;: 304 LYRICS;: Live Like We're Dying - Kris Allen COMMENTS;: Oooh, Midnight has a secret. >=3 TAGGED;: Harvey/Open To put it blunt, Harvey was not stupid. Almost instantly after Midnight spoke, he knew she had lied. Hell he knew the cat so well that he questioned why she would even bother with lying to him. He watched her, concern in his eyes. He wasn't sure what was up with her, but he wanted to know. Most people wouldn't push for answers, figuring whatever it was wasn't their business, but the teenage leader was not most people. He would make it his business if he had to. He would do almost anything to get answers from his teammate. He watched her, noticing how she rubbed her head against him which was something she did not do often.
Something was certainly up.
Jester held in a sigh. Just what he needed. More lies, more secrets, and more crap in his life. "Doesn't matter if there's much to tell or not." he finally commented after a few moments of silently watching her. He ran a hand through his blonde hair and went over some of the stuff he had to do that day. He knew he would have to relieve Josh of some of the duties he had put onto the boy's shoulders. He had began to rely too much on the hero and figured he should start making decisions for himself. Turning his attention back to Midnight, he hoped she could see the look in his eyes and realized that he wanted the truth.

She knew what he wanted, but the feline honestly didn't know if she was ready to tell him. Maybe she just plain shouldn't. It would save them all a whole lot of trouble and drama she was sure it would bring. Shifting in her position uncomfortably, she didn't say anything, not even sure what to say in the first place as she debated the issue. Instead, she just stared out over Jump City, her bright purple eyes twitching from side to side as she watched a number of cars drive below her. "Harvey...you like cats in general, right?, she asked, not answering his question, throwing another one at him instead that really didn't seem to be on topic. She'd worry about his question after he gave her an answer. She wanted to know if he would have an issue with a few...possible additions to the team, though they wouldn't actually be able to do much, especially for the first week or so. Shadow hadn't meant to get pregnant, but her instincts had pushed her human sense from her mind and she had gone along with the tabby male that had chased her.
Swallowing hard as she wrapped her tail around her paws, she lightly leaned up against Jester. Maybe she should just tell him instead of beating around the bush like she was. It was probably better than what she was doing anyways. If she just told him, then they could get the whole wave of questions and shock out of the way. She gave a sigh as she muttered to herself, cursing at how cowardly she was being. A soft smile stretched across the blonde's face as her fingers brushed over the soft fur of a goat. She winced slightly as her mind was filled with short visions of the animal's life, but thankfully it was only a kid, therefore there wasn't much to see and the visions quickly faded from her view. Animals were really the only things she dared to touch with her bare hands since their lives were generally short and their memories and past weren't so long. Also, it was interesting to see an animal's life, especially when it was for an animal as energetic and carefree as the baby goat she was playing with. That was why the petting zoo was her favorite place to go, and really the only thing she could actually do at a zoo. She couldn't see or admire the other larger animals they kept here at Jump City's zoo, so she was pretty much stuck here, so to speak. but, she wasn't about to complain. She enjoyed the animals' company. She could talk to them if she wanted to, though people seemed to find that to be odd, but it was nice to talk to someone who would just listen and not talk back.
It had been hectic the past few weeks, hardly having time to do much of anything. Criminals were coming back around to commit crimes now that it was warm out and people were going out on vacations, including a few officers on the police force. So, that didn't really help the Titans in any way, but not like there was much they could do about that. Quietly sighing, Maddison gently scratched the kid under its chin before it loudly brayed and jumped away. Sliding her dark leather gloves back onto her hand, the blind teen carefully sat down onto a bale of hay as she patiently waited for another animal to come to her side and give her company and amusement for her time here. So she said what's the problem baby What's the problem I don't know Travis stared at the lions, though they did nothing but sleep. He sighed, having wanted to see some action from the mighty cats like he would have seen on television. "Maybe I should just stick to watching tv." he muttered to himself under his breath before pushing away from the railing he had been leaning against and walking away. He put his hands in the pockets of his denim jacket, ignoring the looks he got from people. He hated people knowing he was part of Young Justice. It was all thanks to Nebula. People had learned everything they believed from those demons. They believed that Young Justice, Rider's Deck, and their allies had terrorized Coalfield and were planning on doing the same to Jump City. None of that was true, and he hoped they realized that.
The half-kryptonian stopped when he saw the familiar blonde that he loved. He watched her for a moment, admiring her. He walked over to the petting zoo, putting in a few coins so he could get some of the animal feed. He walked in, scratching the head of a baby goat, giving it a little of the food to make it want to follow him. He strode over to the Titan, smiling shyly. "So if I get on all fours can I be pet too?" he asked jokingly, gently grabbing her hand and putting some of the food in it. "Here, they seem hungry." he added watching as the baby goat followed and came looking for the food.
Superstar knelt down beside his girlfriend. He stared at her, loving the way the sun danced across her skin. He stood up a bit and quickly but gently kissed her on the cheek. "So how have you been?" he questioned, though he was a bit afraid to ask. What if she asked how he had been? He'd have to lie to her. Life had been Hell for every member of Rider's Deck and Young Justice. It had been pure Hell with so much crappy drama and he still didn't know when it would end.
Well maybe I'm in love Think about it every time Wordcount: 346 Lyrics: Accidentally In Love --- Maroon 5 Character(s): Travis Kent --- Superstar --- Young Justice Comments: none Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Maddi, Open
Maddison had heard the sound of someone approaching her easily, but she hadn't expected said person to say anything to her, causing her to jump slightly. But, he jumpiness quickly turned to slight embarrassment as she recognized Travis' voice, her cheeks turning a light pink as a blush slipped onto her face. Lightly laughing at his comment, her foggy blue eyes turned in his direction, but didn't look at him, unable to tell where he actually was. She blinked as he gently grabbed her gloved hand, feeling the small objects he dropped in her hand, but unable to tell what they wee until a number of goats clumsily came jumping over to get the food in her hand. Giving a small shriek of giggles at the sudden attention from the small animals, she grinned brightly as she lightly leaned against her boyfriend. She gently ran her other free hand over the animal's shoulders and backs, wishing she could remove her glove. hell, she wished she didn't have to wear them, but she hated seeing the past of things she'd rather not see.
Relaxing a it as the food in her had disappeared and most of the goats moved on to the other people who had food, Maddison wiped her gloved hand on her jeans. "I've been okay. Just busy.", she said quietly as she closed her eyes, resting her head on Travis' shoulder. She hadn't really seen the half-kryptonian in awhile and she had missed him to say the least. "What about you? Anything new?", she questioned, opening her blind eyes as they stared blankly at the fence across from them.

Raptor walked down the streets, unsure of where he was going. He was currently in his "human" form and dressed in dark clothing. He was thankful that Kira had left him some money and supplies, like clothing, food, water, etc. The essentials. He had them all stowed away in his own little place in the sewers. He hadn't spent any of the money yet. Human economy was so hard to grasp and understand. The price tag said one price yet you had to pay a completely different and higher price. Ugh, it made his head hurt. Everything seemed so confusing in a human's day to day life. A car zoomed past, causing the teen to jump as several polic cars whirled after it. He grit his teeth and held back a hiss. Humans. What were they good for? Why had God created them? He couldn't figure it out. He saw them as having no purpose in life. They were the ones that sinned, not animals nor plants. They had ate the apple from the forbidden tree, just them, not any other creature. They were corrupt and sick minded. Kira had tried to keep those thoughts from the demon's head, but it hadn't worked. He hated that race, despite knowing that he might have human in him. The Black Witch hadn't told him everything he had in him before she had died.
Finally, Whisper arrived at the church. It had been about three months since he had been created and since Carlos had died. During that time he had stayed in isolation, only seeing Kira. She had practically raised him into being her son. He had similar views that she had, except for when it came to humans. He was religious, like her, despite being a demonic being. She had once told him that if he ever felt like there was something he had to do and wasn't sure what it was, to go to the church. Now here he was, trying to remember. He felt like he was supposed to meet someone here, but he wasn't sure why or even who. He walked over to the door, getting greeted by people. Sunday service had just ended, he could tell, and everyone was going home. He said hello to the Pastor-- or whatever he was called, he wasn't sure exactly what kind of church this was. After saying hello to some more humans-- these the kind he could actually tolerate cause they seemed to be at the most decent --he walked into the main service area, his hands in the pockets of his jacket. Thankfully it was still warm in here from when everyone had been gathered. If it hadn't been, he was sure he would be freezing. It was still winter and cold outside. He wore no shirt under his zipped up jacket, and had regretted it the moment he had stepped out of the sewers.
Raptor sat down in the front aisle, glancing around. He was alone in here, surprised everyone had left a teenager they didn't even know alone. The church was abandoned now, but the young boy's sensitive ears picked up on voices outside of the church. He sighed and ran a hand through his short black hair. He wasn't sure how long he was going to wait, but he didn't really mind. He didn't have anything better to do. He wasn't sure how he would know the person when he saw them, but was sure that he would recognize them. Maybe, it was someone who had known Carlos. The name sent a shiver down the part-vampire's spine. He had originally been just a body, made to be molded to that boy's soul. Accidentally, Kira had created his soul--Raptor's soul. He had just been some accident. Even now, though, his body was able to harbor other souls. They could enter his body and stay there for a short time, but not forever. Not unless whatever their soul was trapped in that kept them on earth, was placed on the teen or touched the teen. Even now, his ears picked up on several lost souls calling him, begging for another chance at life. He covered his ears and closed his eyes. He didn't want to hear their pleads. If he did, he might give in to their wishes.
Word count: 722Tags: JeremyOutfit: HEREEvery night in my dreams I see you, I feel you "Kid? Hey, kid! Come on, wake up!" A foot suddenly nudged itself against Jeremy's chest as his eyes fluttered open, squinting at the light he was suddenly exposed to. Where was he? What happened last night, or the night before that? A pained groan slipped past his lips as he tried to look up at the man that stood over him, confusion written all over his face. "Man, you okay?", he asked, tilting his head to the side slightly as he watched the dark-haired teen roll over on his side. "I'm fine ya ol geezer.", the super snapped, his eyes blood shot and glazed over as he looked up at the man. Her shakily stood up, practically falling over the minute he was on his feet. His once trimmed, combed-back hair was in desperate need of a trim and looked dirty and greasy. His eyes were surrounded by dark, baggy folds of skin that gave his eye sockets a hollowed appearance to him that easily stuck out on his papery-white skin. His clothes were wrinkled and covered with stains of mud and blood, though it was difficult to tell which was which. If the way he stumbled around was no clear indication that he was drunk, then the whiskey bottle he tightly held in his hand made it pretty obvious.
Shoving the guy who had only try to help out of the way, Phantom half limped and half stumbled down the sidewalk, his dark eyes practically rolling around in his head. He didn't know where he was going, nor did he care. But, that wasn't unusual for him. At least, not now it wasn't. It had been this way for the past three months, maybe even longer. The super could hardly remember his own name any more, forgotten along with a number of other things. Like his family who he hadn't seen since this all began, the friends he knew, the boy that changed everything for him, his life. He had forced himself to forget it all, not caring if he hurt others because it would be nothing compared to the pain he now was forced to face everyday of his miserable life. And, it was all because of Him. That damned bastard that he had forced out of his memory, the pain of even hearing his cursed name being too much for him. Why? Why had he let him into his life? Why had he allowed him to plant himself so deep into his soul when he knew he was going to leave him? Why... Why?!
Dragging his feet across the rough pavement, Jeremy hardly even recognized the building he had stumbled upon. His glossy eyes stared at the ground as he pushed open the door of the church, a feeling of dread washing over him before he even knew why. But, it didn't take him long to know. Sloppily swinging his head up, the dark-haired teen felt a tight knot twist in his gut as he looked around, but his dark eyes didn't see what was there now but what had been there then. He could still see the sickly red blood of Him spilling onto the floor as he held Him in his arms. He could hear the desperate cries and pleads of Him echoing in his ears. The bottle that he held in his hand slipped from his fingers as the empty pain returned, cutting him open in one motion. Why had he returned here? Why had he come to the place that reminded him of what he could have possibly had and what he had lost? The teen's legs buckled underneath him as a sob shook through him, not caring that there was someone else there. Hell, he wouldn't have cared even if the entire world was watching him. He was in pain and there was nothing that could fix it. He just wanted Him to return. He turned around when he heard some noise, his eyes falling onto Jeremy. He watched the other boy, curiousity getting the better of him. He was willing to admit he enjoyed watching humans and studying them. He wanted to try to pick their brains, so to speak. He wanted to know what made them tick, why they were worth keeping around. He remembered Kira--- who had been religious despite being a witch ---had told him God had whiped mankind out one time with a giant flood, only letting this guy Noah and his family survive. Why had He promised to never do it again? What was so special about the humans?
A small voice in the back of his head was telling Whisper to get up and walk over to the boy. The dark-haired boy bit his lower lip. Should he? He chose to listen to the voice in his head and got up and walked over to him. The teenage demon kneeled down next to the other boy, gently putting a hand on his back. "Are you okay?" his voice was different compared to Carlos, but not by much. If one listened closely enough, they could hear a sort of pitch that the young Banshee had had also. His eyes were currently light blue, since he was in his "human" form. His eyes sparkled and matched those of Carlos's. Barley visible on his neck was a black collar with blue rhinestones on it, the same collar Carlos had had. When the banshee had died, Kira had made sure that would stay on him even bringing it onto his new body. It was the only way for sure she knew Jeremy would recognize his old boyfriend, even with Raptor's soul in the body.

It was killing him from the inside-out and he just wanted it to end. His life was empty and pointless, so what would be the point of continuing on? Why didn't he just die? The thought brushed over his mind and left a seed that would slowly grow and sprout into something that would be constantly poisoning his thoughts with the dark idea. Lost in his sorrow and despair, the boy hardly heard the footsteps that cautiously came towards him. Or, to be more accurate, he just didn't care about them. If someone was here, then he didn't give a shit. They could drag him out of the church for all he cared. But, the voice that reached his ears cause his form to go rugged. His eyes shot open as his mind tried to register the voice and manipulated it to what he wanted to hear....It was Carlos' voice. His dark, bloodshot eyes dragged themselves up to the figure that was kneeled in front of him, his intoxicated mind and blurred vision distorting the picture.
Phantom began shaking violently as his eyes fell onto the beautifully light blue eyes of the boy before sliding down t the collar that was around his neck. "C-Carlos...?", he spoke, his voice shaking and dry he tried to speak. His throat was dry and damaged from the countless hours of drinking and crying, and it hurt to speak. Sharply inhaling, Jeremy reached a hand up to the boy's face as his mind tricked him and created an image that wasn't really there. "Carlos, is that...r-really you?", he questioned again, a new flow of tears leaking from his eyes for a new reason. Carlos had returned. His Carlos was back. But, this couldn't be really, could it? How did he know this wasn't a dream? But, the soft skin that his fingers fell on told him that yes, this was real. Another sob shook through him, but this time it wasn't from the pain in his heart. No, it was from the joy that shot through him. The boy had returned, just as he had promised. His eyes were bloodshot and he smelled faintly of alcohol. Great, he was drunk. He hadn't had the best of experiences with drunk humans in the past, so he went to move a bit away from the boy but stopped when he heard him say Carlos' name. The name sent a chill throughout him but he pushed it off as he felt the boy's warm touch against his skin. He closed his eyes for a moment and leaned his face against the boy's hand. He opened his eyes and looked at the boy. What was this feeling he felt? He could feel his heart fluttering in his chest. His body begged him to get closer to the boy, his skin crawling with the want to feel the boy's touch some more. Yet...he didn't even know this guy. He wanted to know him, though. He wanted to know everything about him.
"I-I think I am Carlos," Whisper lied as he crawled closer to the boy, gently grasping his hand. He knew for sure he wasn't Carlos. He was meerly a body for the banshee's soul. Course...did this boy really need to know that? No, no he didn't. "People call me Raptor...but I think I am Carlos...I just...I just don't have my memories." he silently wondered why he gave the boy his name when usually he would tell them his codename--- Whisper. There was something about this boy, though. Something that made him trust him and want to get to know him more.
The young demond whiped some tears from the phaser's cheeks. "Please don't cry...." he said quietly, nuzzling the boy's cheek with his nose. "I want to remember you...please make me remember you..." What was he doing? He felt his lips graze over the boy's cheek. Gosh, it was like his body remembered all the things this boy and Carlos did yet he had no clue. This was his body, though. He had to remind himself that as he felt himself almost go into some sort of trance. "I want to remember you." the part-vampire muttered as he closed his eyes and let his lips brush against the boy's.

Kenna pulled back her dark hair and tied it up in a ponytail, dressed in her Young Justice hoodie, denim jeans, a silver t-shirt with her mother's symbol on it, and silver and black sneakers. She was freazing cold. Why had she come to the beach? She wasn't sure. She put her hands in the pockets of her sweatshirt and looked out at the ocean. Well, might as well jog a little. What was the harm in exercising? She needed it. She had to stay well in-shape. She removed her hands from her pockets and started out into a well paced jog, her ponytail bouncing in the air as she jogged. It felt good to stretch her legs after being assigned to sit in front of the computer at the base for the entire week.
Skirting to a halt, Wonderstar put her hands on her knees and bent over, panting. She had already run over half the length of the beach. She wasn't used to a beach having cold, hard to breathe in air. She could breathe fine while standing still, but jogging and running was another story. Halfway through her jog she had started to run, wanting to get more exercise. Now, she was exhausted and her legs were hurting. Hell, she should be out of breath when she's done, not halfway through. A week of doing nothing but sitting and sleeping sure did a lot of damage to the legs. The young Amazon sat down on the dry sand, staring out at the waves. Why did it have to be so cold in the winter? Cheyenne pulled her jacket tighter around her as she slipped a small black box into her pocket. She had just come back from Christmas shopping for one of her close friends and for some reason she thought it would be a good idea to walk back to the Tower. Why? She wasn't sure, but she couldn't do much about it now. Traa was back at the Tower, refusing to go along with her because of the cold, which the heroine didn't really mind. It was nice not having him bickering in her ear. Crow quietly sighed to herself, watching with amusement as the mist from her breath swirled in front of her. She always found watching that entertaining. Smiling and letting out another breath, the Titan leaned back against a light pole.
She hadn't exactly noticed that he chosen path had lead her to Jump City's beach, which was why she was surprised by the sudden view. She probably should've been paying more attention to where she was, but, oh well. Looking over the sandy beach, Cheyenne couldn't really see anyone, though that was tobe expected. Who would want to be at the beach in the middle of winter? Then, why was someone sitting on the beach? The girl slightly narrowed her eyes as she tried to figure out who it was, smiling as she recognized her. It was Kenna. Quickly walking down the stairs that led down to the shore, the dark-haired teen made her way towards her friend, calling out her name.
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Kenna looked over when she heard a voice calling out her name, recognizing Cheyenne almost instantly. She gave her friend a slight wave, not bothering to get up from the ground. She was too lazy and still exhausted. "What brings you to the cold harsh beach?" the Amazon asked jokingly with a slight chuckle. She brought her knees up and wrapped her arms around her legs, holding them close to her chest. A slight shiver shook through her, but she tried not to show it. The more she stood still, the colder she got. That was to be expected though. Moving kept one warm, standing still tended to keep one cold.
"So how are you today?" Wonderstar asked as she looked over at the young Titan. She ran a hand through her hair, feeling the cold sea breeze picking up a bit.
(( damn it >< its soooo short!! T.T -fail- ))Smiling as she sat down next to her friend, Cheyenne quietly sighed as she relaxed. "Oh, just Christmas shopping. Getting gifts and stuff.", she said as she crossed her legs, playing around with the sand. Looking at Kenna, the Titan was surprised at what she was wearing. Or, really, how little she was wearing. She was just wearing a t-shirt and shorts in the middle of winter! Raising an eyebrow at the other girl, she slightly chuckled as she scooted over a bit closer towards her. "Geez, aren't you cold? You must be crazy coming out here like that. Here I can help.", she said as she wrapped her around Kenna, rubbing her arm as she tried to help warm her up. "You're gonna end up getting sick if you keep this up", she added, smiling at her friend, though a different feeling stirred inside her at the same time. After that whole ordeal with Ishi and then Athena, her emotions had been a bit rocky and not exactly functioning correctly. Her mood had been a bit more depressing, though, thanks to her ADHD, she still couldn't help but be a bit hyper and whatnot.
Sharply inhaling as she slightly tightened her grip on Kenna, a small voice in her head was practically shouting at her to not try anything more. She had already been hurt by Ishi and she didn't need another heartbreak, but something was different about the other girl. Though, maybe it was just her desperate hope that something seemed different. "Feel better?", she asked, as she looked at Kenna, smiling.
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Kenna felt a faint blush go onto her cheeks when she felt the touch of Cheyenne's hand on her arm. She hadn't really thought much about what she really felt toward the Titan. She never dated guys, having a hatred for any outside of her team and allies. She had dated a girl once or twice before. It was....okay...she wasn't fond of dating in the first place. She had always thought that she would only need her brother and friends in life, not a love interest. Though now, sitting with her friend's arm around her, she felt herself slightly leaning against the other teen, nothing to say. Should she reply to her question? She wasn't sure. For a moment the Amazon closed her eyes, listening to the sound of the other girl breathing and the wind and water. She could make out the sound of a few birds and the waves picking up closer to the shore a bit. It was peaceful here. She likd it here. She wanted to capture this moment and save it, never letting it go.
"Much better," Wonderstar finally replied as she opened her eyes and looked up at Cheyenne. A small smile was on her face and she prayed she wasn't blushing, though she felt her face get a little hot and a funny feeling swirl around in her chest, near where most people said the heart was. The dark-haired girl looked back over at the water, laying her hand ontop of Cheyenne's, and grasping it, her grip a slight squeeze.Cheyenne's heart sped up as she felt Kenna lean against her, making her want to do something than just sit there. But, the voice that was screaming in her mind restrained her from doing anything. After Ishi had practically ripped her heart out, the Titan didn't trust herself in that part of her life. Her confidence and belief that she could make the right choices for her love life was gone, or more hidden. She refused to let herself be who she really was in that subject, scared that she would just come crashing down again. It may have only been once that she had her heart broken, but it felt like more than just once, and she didn't want to have to suffer through that again. Crow tried to convince herself that this didn't mean anything, that the other girl was just trying to get warm, but the excuses didn't do much help. People didn't just lean against each other for no reason, but that didn't mean she could just jump right to a conclusion. Friends leaned against each other without it ever meaning anything more than that. Then, why did this feel like something more?
"Good, glad I could help.", she said, smiling at Kenna as she answered her question. And, she was surprised slightly to see a light blush on the girl's face, though she had only caught a small glimpse of it. A small spark of hope ignited in her chest at this, though that nagging voice came and put it out instantly. Blushing could mean a number of things, not just that she liked her. But, the screaming voice was shoved away as Cheyenne felt her crush grasp her hand, making her heart skip a beat. The number of restrictions and precautions she had created for herself vanished from her mind as her heart went racing in her chest.
Gently resting her head on Kenna's, she didn't feel scared of being hurt any more. That was life. You get hurt, you learn from it, then you get back on your feet and try again. She couldn't just hide herself from these things and keep it all to herself. Being silent and worried about what may happen would hurt more than just trying and failing. Besides, the only time you truly fail is when you stopped trying, or something like that. Softly smiling as she breathed in the sweet scent of Kenna's hair, Crow slowly laced their fingers together, praying this really was all that it seemed to be. But, she dismissed that thought the moment it entered her mind, refusing to let her doubt ruin a moment like this.
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Kenna closed her eyes and inhaled and exhaled slowly. A smile was on her face when she felt Cheyenne's head go on her's and soon their fingers getting laced together. She scooted closer to Cheyenne, un-named emotions stirring up within her. What was this? What was going on? She racked her brain, trying to figure it out. What could this strange emotion she was feeling be? Words couldn't describe it. She felt....funny....? Was that the word? No, no, not a good enought word. The word had to be perfect. Afterall, it would explain how she was feeling toward Cheyenne. Wait....did she seriously just think that? Her eyes snapped open and she quickly pulled away from Cheyenne, becoming frustrated with herself. What the hell was she thinking? Why the hell was she thinking this? Hell, why was she questioning her thoughts?! Why was she even thinking so much?! A frustrated groan escaped the dark-haired girl as she lay down on her back in the sand, staring up at the sky.
The sky was so peaceful. All thoughts seemed to leave Wonderstar's mind. She closed her eyes for a few minutes before opening them and reaching her hand toward the sky, putting her other hand under her head. She closed her hand as if in an attempt to grab the sky and put it in her pocket. She tilted her head and snuck a glance at Cheyenne, a smile slipping back onto her face. She looked away and back at the sky, her arm still out-stretched. She opened her hand, letting the sky go away. "It's so beautiful..." she said as she breathed in and let it out slowly. "Just like you..."
Oh, no. This couldn't be more unexpected Cheyenne felt a small part of her mind flinch as Kenna suddenly pulled away, a small piece of hurt planted itself in her chest. God, she did it again, didn't she? She had stepped over her boundaries and had screwed up again. What was she gonna do now? Lightly biting her lip as she glanced at the girl next to her, the Titan felt her worry and fear of being hurt creep up on her again. Looking away, she almost thought about leaving. She didn't want to ruin the friendship the two already shared by trying to push something on her that the girl might not be ready for or ever will be. As much as she hated it, not many girls were lesbian, and she had learned that the hard way. Sure, she knew not eery girl was, but something in her immature mind had convinced her that she'd be able to find a girl in an instant. Unfortunately, that wasn't true, for any gender. She really needed to stop watching those idiotic romance movies that make everything seem so easy.
Quietly sighing, Crow looked back at Kenna, trying to figure out what was going on in that mind of hers. One minute she's leaning against her and holding her hand, and the next she's pulling away from her and groaning. God, why did this have to be so confusing? Running her hand through her hair, the girl silently looked up at the sky as she leaned back, propping herself up on her elbows. It was really nice, actually. The clouds were in white, wispy swirls in the sky and it made it all so peaceful. A small smile fell onto her face as the girl laying next to her stated her opinion about the scenery, opening her mouth to agree with her when Kenna's next comment stopped her. Cheyenne stared at the girl with a shocked expression, her mind not fully registering what she had said. No, she couldn't have heard her right, could she? Blinking, the Titan felt her heart pound in her chest as the shocked expression that had sat itself on her face was wiped away and replaced with a soft smile. "Tal vez. Pero, no es nada comparado con la belleza que posee, mi amor.", she said, slipping into her native tongue unintentionally. Apparently she was always doing that, and it sometimes bugged her teammates. But, she couldn't help it. English was her second language. Besides, everything sounded better in Spanish.

Lol xD TAGGED;: Kenna When I see you My heart starts a pumpin’ Kenna sat up, leaning back slightly with her hands propping her up. She mentally repeated Cheyenne's reply several times, each time translating a different word. She knew some Spanish, but rarely used it so she was a bit rusty at it. On the Amazon's island, all sorts of languages had been used, mainly English, but she had still needed to learn some new languages. Once she had finally decoded the message, a pink blush appeared on her cheeks. The last time a fellow girl had claimed to like her had been a couple years ago on the Amazon island, and that hadn't even led to anything. Well, okay she admited they dated, sort of. It was a sort of kiss and don't tell relationship. She remembered it clearly. That girl had been the first girl she had ever "dated". In the end, she hated that bitch. She had been the daughter of the Amazon known as Artemis, a hero that had occasionally faught alongside her own mother--- Wonder Woman. The memory of that girl was etched into her head, and she hoped she would never see her again...
She walked outside, dressed in the typical short white dress that most Amazons wore. She had gotten used to the strange shoes she had to wear over the years. She looked out at the scenery, loving every part of it. It was peaceful pon Themyscira unlike the rest of the world. Still, she didn't want to be here. She wanted to be out, searching for her lost brother. Where was he? She needed to know. She needed to hold him again, to speak to him, to play with him. She needed to be a kid again. Here, she was expected to be a young woman, not a kid. She was only thirteen years old, but so what? She had basically been deprived of her childhood and she thought she had a right to live it.
"Eleifend iterum meos?" came a voice from behind her. She turned around and smiled as her eyes went onto Annie, her girlfriend. The older girl, who was fifteen at the time, had her long orange hair down instead of up and her green eyes were looking straight at her. Annie had spoken in Latin, her native language. (*translate: thinking again, my love?)
"Semper dulcis," the dark-haired girl replied, smiling at her crush. "De te semper." She watched as her girlfriend grinned, a blush forming on her own face as she replied to the other girl in Latin (*translate: always, my sweet. always about you). She watched as Annie walked up behind her and wrap her arms around her waist. She leaned back against the other girl, feeling her crush press her body against her.
"An uti heri?" Annie soothed into her ear, her fingers brushing against the hickey the young hero had on her neck, hidden by her wavy dark hair (*translate: did you enjoy last night? ). The memory of the night before sent shivers of excitement through the young Amazon's body. "Fruebar corpus tuum exploratione." was whispered into her ear, causing her to squirm with embarrassment as her face went bright pink with a blush (*translate: I enjoyed exploring your body ). She felt Annie nip her earlob, the girl's hands flowing up her body and to her chest, grasping it tightly, causing the teenage hero to gasp. "Locus ad meam. Esurio vobis." The words were like magic, and the girl obeyed her girlfriend (*translate: Come to my room. I'm hungry for you. ).
She allowed herself to be pulled into Annie's room. Once the door was shut, their lips were placed together, the orange-haired girl quickly slipping her tongue in and pushing it as far into the girl's mouth as she could. She closed her eyes and felt herself get pushed onto her crush's bed. She felt the girl's hands on her, quickly getting to work with removing her clothes... Wonderstar pushed back the memory, and smiled shyly at Cheyenne. She pushed some strands of her hair behind her ear. She didn't want to make the same mistake twice. Annie had just used her, used her as some damn toy. That was why she was usually against couples being sexual, cause it brought back memories, bad memories. Still, her heart told her to take a chance. She lifted a hand and slipped it to the back of Cheyenne's neck. "Volo basiare te," she said slowly and quietly in Latin, the language still coming naturally to her even though every time she spoke it she was reminded of the whore she used to be, or at least she had seemed to be. She gently pulled Cheyenne's head closer and pressed their lips together, hoping she wouldn't get burned.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] When I hear you My head goes woohoohoo Wordcount: 784 Lyrics: Crush on You --- Tiger Geme (( its a song I'm working on :3 )) Character(s): Kenna Prince --- Wonderstar --- Young Justice Comments: I really dislike Annie >> Written by: Tiger Geme Tags: Cheyenne Don't let it throw you off too far Cheyenne didn't say or do anything as she waited for Kenna to respond. Though, she was surprised when the girl actually figured out what she had said. Not many people she knew actually spoke Spanish and the fact that the girl understood made her feel...something. It was sort of like a mixture between a feeling close to comfort and something else she couldn't name. Relief maybe? It was just different for her to actually have someone else understand her, besides her father who didn't really count since he was the one who taught her the language in the first place. Her nerves were starting to get the better of her, though as the moments seemed to tick by. Oh, God, had she screwed up again? It wouldn't have surprised her if she had. She wasn't sure what it was, but she just never seemed to do anything right in these situations. Swallowing hard, she lowered her gaze as she felt her self confidence just continue to plummet downwards. But, that stopped for a brief moment as Kenna spoke.
Crow had no idea what she had said, not understanding the language she was speaking, though it sort of seemed like something that was somewhat related to Spanish. She would've been lying if she said she wasn't lying when she felt the girl's hand slide behind her neck, the feeling of her fingertips brushing against her skin sent shivers down her spine. Sharply inhaling as she looked at her crush, she could feel her heart pick up its pace as her affections for Kenna went swirling in her chest. She felt the sand beneath her shift slightly as she slightly leaned closer, ignoring the few grains that seeped into her shoes. But, soon she couldn't feel anything as Kenna suddenly pressed their lips together. Cheyenne felt her entire body tense up with surprise as her eyes widened slightly. She had not been expecting that at all, and at first she wasn't sure how to respond. Or more accurately, her body refused to respond. At least, for the first few moments it did. Her mind had been completely severed from her body as she tried to piece together what was happening.
Kenna was...kissing her. The moment that fact clicked into her mind. She felt a wave of feelings wash over her as her heart practically exploded with joy. Her body finally moved as her lips responded, returning the kiss as her arm clumsily wrapped itself around the girl. Pulling her body closer to her, her other hand curled her fingers into the other girl's hair as she deepened the kiss. Her mind took in every feeling that she felt, recording it and engraving it into her mind so she would never forget this moment. It pushed away all the other things that had happened to her. Her kiss with Ishi was wiped from her mind, and her kiss from Athena faded from her memory as they were replaced with these few precious moments of her life. This was and always would be her first kiss. And, there was nothing more she wanted in her life.
